My unpopular opinion on Visual Updates.

I don't like clutter. I get some people are all about how many things you can fit on one thing, but that's not me. I prefer it when things look less but still look good. Less is more and that sort of thing. I also prefer cartoonier graphics over realistic graphics. As I have said before, they are making the visual updates for the new summoners rift (back when the Skarner swarm struck, even though over half of you never even played him ever), and again during the Morde and Sona changes. The skins as they are would look so grossly out of place in the new SR that it would look just silly. Your skin still looks good, just less cluttered. Trust me when I say you would be more upset if you saw your skin in the new SR. "Riot my skin looks so out of place what are you even doing with your lives this skin clearly belongs in a different game FIX IT!" and when they do, you would be happy when they made it what the proposed skin design is currently.

TL;DR: Stop complaining about visual changes, because you'll be even more upset with how they look normally on the SR update that's coming out.

You know what is sad?

That when people post some stupidity or nonsense, there is always somthing to say. Though when people post something sensible there is less to say.

So take my upvote and be with peace.

It's kind of the same complaints that happens with splash arts. It's more about everything being a common theme and looking good together so the whole game looks good rather than just things looking good on the individual level.

Agreed. The real issue is, they've made so many champions/new skins for old champions over such a long time period, and never tried to keep the visual styles the same 100% throughout...until now, 5 years into the game's life. Personally? No new champions, lord knows we have enough already. Get that art team doing these and nothing but these until all 120 look like they belong in the same game, no matter what team composition you're in.

I think the real solution is more like: decide a style, and stick with it for all the new champs. Then slowly convert all old champs to that style slowly overtime like they are. That way we get new champs while also standardizing the game more.

See, that's what they are doing, but as you can tell the going is slooow. With Azir's art done that's 121 champions that either get new skins(cuz Riot has families to feed and what not) or VU/TU, depending on how old/popular they are.

I prefer the new versions too, it follows one color scheme and its really great Riot keeps it unified.

True. I feel like with a couple skins I am not a fan of the change (outback reneks hat looks stupid and tiny now, and a little too much detail was removed from desperada kass) but they're good overall.

Isn't the purpose for the more colorful chorion to stand out more on the new SR? If so.. Mission accomplished.

I have to agree, I have a friend that has to play on low res, and most details just get blurred together, and a lot of the VUs fix (most) of that.
