Why are people so keen on regular URF over ARURF

I find ARURF much more appealing.

Regular URF is just going to be filled with Syndra, Yi, Veigar, Annie, Rumble and other champion spam. Someone will have the argument of just banning them - but that type of thinking is so poorly misguided. The reason we have 10 bans is because there are 139 champions in League and the old ban system would never allow us to truly filter out champions.

ARURF allows for more fairness through randomness - believe it or not. This way not every game is filled with the same champions or bans.

I honestly hope Riot keeps ARURF over URF because the gamemode is much healthier and fun the way it is.

ARURF is a coin toss gamemode, most people don't even know how to play the champions they get and just leads to games being done 5-10 minutes in.

It's not meant to be a serious gamemode. It's meant to be fun.

What's fun - facing the same champions over and over and getting stomped?

Or facing and playing a random pool of champions, learning about the game, and just taking it with a grain of salt?

I never it was a serious gamemode or that it isn't fun. People just get bored really easily when champs have zero impact vs others. On top of that some people really just enjoying playing those certain champs on URF, so this all random is quite a drag for some thats all.

urf is just a upgraded version of lol more or less that lets champs unleash true hell on others in other words unleash their full potential on those foes that the rift said no too lore wise its probably the chains of the rift are weakened on these champs so they can decimate the other foes at will

A lot of people have make special plans for some champions and then they won't get the champions, because riot either limits the champions or you get a random out of 140 champions. In theory you could end up playing 140 games just to get the one champ you wanted to try something ot with

AR urf is so annoyingly stupid they need to bring back regular urf. Can't play any champs I wanna play on urf like kai sa because it never gives anyone kai sa.

I think URF should just be an option in custom game types on weekends and left alone for ever after that with no attempts to balance it from riot. Urf players in CX games can create their own rules between players for an extend ban list, this used to work for WC3 maps back in my day.

Personally my bias is I don't really like regular urf. A meta gets made then obeyed. You cant mess around with something silly after 2 days of the mode being live with out grossly hurting your team in a good number of picks. Urf to me shows what happens when you allow a meta to be stagnant.
