Pyke

  • Super good base stat (High base HP and super high base armor)
  • Assassin that with super strong cc (hoke+90% slow, stun) with burst dmg and 2 dashes + Camouflage
  • Overpowered passive that makes poke ineffective
  • New R mechanics gains more gold than a carry
  • Easy to play and "outplay"

Everytime I see him I feel so tilted of his cancerous gameplay

Suggestions for nerf:

  1. Remove that disgusting extra gold change in his R
  2. "Blitz crank" treatment: Massively increase Q mana cost, make every missed Q counts. His Q is as deadly as Blitzcrank but spammable.
  3. Increase Camouflage detect range similar to eve's. MS burst only gained when unseen (Similar to twitch Q).

What are your thoughts?

Remove Q slow Done, no other nerfs needed. Suddenly Pyke can't 100% hit E or R after Q, and if he pulls wrong enemy, that "wrong enemy" will have a chance to actually punish him or his teammates

All of these changes sound good - I especially think that his bonus gold is unhealthy - but his gray health passive also needs to be addressed. It's a huge cop-out for his kit, which is supposed to be this glass cannon and exacerbates all of his problems.

At least with Tahm; he has no mobility and his CC is arguably less effective, making him simple to kite and easy to punish when he overextends. But Pyke has a huge range, brain-dead CC chaining, is slippery as all fuck, and can stealth for his engage, so the usual method of countering all-in kits with poke flat out does not work.

Reducing the storage percentage, then removing the AD ratio for the gray health cap altogether, and tweaking it from there should make him infinitely more manageable.

Also, remove the Lethality scaling on his stun. It already has a huge base duration, it does not need to scale.

I know you hate Pyke a lot, but to the point of clamming false information is just stupid. You just compared the Blitzcrank hook to Pyke hook. They are not comparable by any means, because Blitzcrank is way better. It does not have a charge system like Pyke's hook, and it pulls the enemy much closer to you than Pyke' hook does.

If there's something that I truly hate is the false usage of data or making extremly STUPID comparations do make your point valid, wich is the case of this one. I'm not defending Pyke here by any means - I do think he's overturned now - But make actually good points and good arguments for god sake, and stop being clearly bias. Also listing only the strong points of the champions - and even list that one where you said "easy to play and "outplay"" - clearly not bias at all - isn't good argumentation, because when you list only the strong points of every champion in the game, suddently they're all OP.

Pyke's good because he has high uptime & aftershock imo.

  1. Remove the scaling on his grey health from 30%-81% and make it a flat 45%.
  2. Increase cooldown of his Q from 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 >> 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 / 8
  3. Increase cooldown of his W from 12 / 11.5 / 11 / 10.5 / 10 >> 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10.
  4. Decrease movement speed from 40 / 45 / 50 / 55 / 60% (+ 1.5% per 1 Lethality) >> 30 / 35/ 40 / 50/ 60% (removed lethality)
  5. Lower range on his Q max Range from 700 >> 625
  6. Remove mana refund if interrupted on his Q.
  7. Increase mana cost on Q from 70 >> 110.
  8. Lower cost on W to 50 >> 40
  9. Increase Mana Cost of E from 40 >> 65.
  10. New Effect on his W : Next ability Pyke casts after exiting Ghostwater will be casted at half the mana cost. Balance in kit to make up for mana increases.
  11. Mana cost on Ultimate increased from 100 >> 200
  12. Ultimate damage from 250 - 550 (+80% bonus ad + 1.5 per 1 lethality) >> 150 - 400 (+60% bonus ad *lethality bonus removed)
  13. Ultimate recast time from 20 seconds >> 12 seconds
  14. New Effect on Ultimate : Refunds 100 mana on first execution with ultimate. Refunds 50 mana for recasts. Pyke and allies instantly heals for the missing health on his grey health bar and lowers cooldown on his abilities by 3/4/5 seconds.
  15. Nerf after shock to where only those that build tank stats get worthwhile buffs for running it.

With those changes, pretty much shutdown the catch him out but he heals up and fights again feeling, while keeping him some sustain early game. High cd nerfs to his Q and W to impact his roaming and Q spam in lane. New effect added on his W to make up for nerfs in kit and encourage pykes to continue using W as a tool to setup for engage. Movement speed decrease to affect roaming boots of mobility pyke's early game. Q range nerf to give Pyke's enemies some breathing room. Remove mana refund for Q being interrupted to punish Pyke for taking cc/silence. Increased mana costs on Q & E to punish Pyke for missing skillshots. Lower cost on W to not consume too much mana for ability rotations. Major nerf to ultimate damage early and scales less late game. Lower recast window on ultimate to prevent pyke from being able to hold ultimate recast for so long. Higher mana cost on ultimate due to new effects that benefit pyke. Decreased damage on pyke's ultimate to give enemies room to outplay. Pyke rewarded with healing him and his allies that assisted on successful executions. Aids support role + bonus for executions. And... nerf aftershock to stop champs such as lux & pyke from running it.

Honestly the parts that tick me off most about him are the amount of mobility he has access to COMBINED with his threat levels. Most champions with strong on demand mobility lose pressure when they use it to escape, or only stay oppressive if they snowball.

Pyke has access to so much mobility and crowd control that he's always mobile and is always applying pressure even if his lane didn't snowball. Which I understand a support should have access to crowd control to be relevant, but this guy is just overloaded like many newer champions and reworks for the sake of being overloaded because it's "cool" and "fun".

His Q is far not as deadly as Blitzcrank , that's why it is spammable. Blitzcrank is instant, Pyke needs to cast it. Hence he cannot punish for certain mistakes as hard as Blitzcrank

I'd suggest:

  1. Lowering his base armor (as an assassin he doesn't need tankiness)
  2. Getting rid of the dumb bonus gold on R that he gets from himself
  3. The W could use some changes to make it more playable against

He actually isn't all that easy to play, though. Almost every Pyke I see is bad.

And this saddens me because I'm a Pyke Main.

Just saw a Pyke that built ONLY tank items :) still had more damage than everyone in the game. Balance at it's finest. Gut Pyke.

I mean he has a terrible passive which is his worst con tbh. thats why his Hp is so high. hes very squishy.

Remove his gold aspect in his ulti entirely or at least severely rework it FIRST.

It's precisely because of his ulti that he's busted beyond repair, since he's a kill threat that can potentially wipe the entire enemy team while feeding not just himself but his team while he's at it. That's hilariously broken and it even blatantly circumvent the 1 biggest designed pitfall of chain-kill champs, ie gold-sinking, which Pyke completely gets to get around for no reason.

Once that's done, we can talk about fixing the rest of his busted mess.

Champs like Pyke and Yuumi should've never been released. I am sure their gameplay can't possibly be designed by the same person OH NO
