DL's interesting Ashe build

In the match vs DIG yesterday, Doublelift build Ashe in a rather interesting way:

item 1055 item 1001 item 1038 item 1053 item 1037 item 3086 : 5090 gold

Level 9 Ashe with that and standard runes: DPA with passive: 224.4 AS: 1.029 DPS: 230.9

Level 9 Ashe with IE, Doran's and Zeal components (4990 gold): DPA with passive: 276.6 AS: 0.996 DPS: 275.6 This more standard Ashe does more damage when auto-attacking, but has less AD for poking and less Lifesteal. Also, no boots.

Level 9 Ashe with BF, PD and Doran's + boots (5115 gold) DPA with passive: 220.4 AS: 1.227 DPS: 270.3

Next back, Double completed the Phantom Dancer for his build (1700 gold, total 6790 gold): DPA with passive: 271.2 AS: 1.227 DPS: 332.6

What if he had completed IE instead? (1375 gold, total 6465 gold): DPA with passive: 297.6 AS: 1.029 DPS: 306.3

More damage per attack, but less damage as DPS. Fairly interesting, isn't it?

how is that an interesting build?

judging from it, literally all he did was grab zeals before finishing the i.e. which might have been circumstantial, as he might have just needed a small power spike and didnt have the gold to finish the entire i.e., or the movement speed bonus to help him out at the time.

i think the price of i.e. is somewhere around 1375 gold after finishing bf sword and pickaxe. zeals is 1100 gold. he might have just been short 200 gold of getting the i.e. and didnt want to walk back into lane with that much gold in his pocket. because gold thats sitting in your inventory without being used is wasted power. so might aswell grab some multiplicative stats to go along with that raw ad thats already there.

edit.: i didnt see the second part. did you edit the post?

does that factor in the q? how would that calculation look like with a hurricane instead of the second pd, and with multiple procs per shot?

otherwise thats a LOT of gold. if you did that in one of my games without snowballing, tb i would probably just build a thornmail and rek you. so this might not be the smartest thing to do.

No, didn't edit.

And second PD? There was never a second PD in my calculations.

I found the build interesting from the point of view of building a bit of everything and still turning out ok-ish numbers. His team was in control, indeed, but I wouldn't particularily call it snowballing at that point...

The other interesting aspect, to me, was the second part - where completing PD gives more DPS than completing IE.

Next back, Double completed the Phantom Dancer for his build (1700 gold, total 6790 gold):

yea, never mind -.-

for some reason my brain turned this into "double phantom dancer". then i go with my original assumption. he just grabbed the zeal, because it might have been what he had the gold for at the time.

otherwise, after you have a decent amount of crit, ashe scales very strong with attack speed, as it allows her to cram more auto attacks into the time her q is active. well, that actually goes for most ad carries with auto attack damage amplifying steroids (as opposed to attack speed steroids). twitch for example, or vayne with the large ad bonus on her ult. theyx both like to go for large amounts of attack speed early.

the stat combination itself should be stronger on most of them, than straight rushing infinity edge. the reason why people still rush i.e. in lane, is because of crit fishing. you go in and poke with single auto attacks before you retreat.

hitting 1 crit or 2 crits with an i.e. creates sudden burst, that can chunk a huge part of the enemies health, which is a sign to go all in.

but since ashes crit damage averages out all of the time, she might aswell go with thats the most efficient build dps wise, instead of a build that creates single, hard hitting auto attacks.

It doesnt, With the way IE effects Ashe's AA, it is always better to finish IE than buy than a zeal. Granted build 1 does reach the 3rd hit 1/5 of a second sooner.

Build 1 zeal: 70+6+9+7+50+10+25+0=177 1st hit 177 2nd hit 212.4 (177)1.1+177(.10(1)) 3rd hit 212.4 (177)1.1+177(.10(1))

Build 2 IE: 70+6+9+7+80+10=182 1st hit 182 2nd hit 254.8 (182)1.1+182(.20(1.5)) 3rd hit 254.8 (182)1.1+182(.20(1.5))
