Even if it took a while, I'm glad they got back to you Morde players and gave you some solo lane ability.

Now for a personal question: I'm looking to expand my champion pool in top lane, but I like characters I can flex into several roles. I also don't mind taking the time to learn a bit about a champion. Should I pick up Morde, in your opinion?

Personal bias aside; Morde's a great pickup during assassin metas due to him being a great counter to them. Not only this but if played well he can crush a lot of melee opponents. But unlike other anti assassins and tanks his damage grows exponentially, making him a threat at all stages of the game.

Still, he does suffer from getting ganked but if ahead he can carry pretty hard. He's really flexible in terms of build paths and position but he does require some time to get the hang of.

On a related note, Shen's going to be able to roll Top, jungle and support so you may consider playing the Ninja too.

I'm sorry but I'm a bit confused with whats going on with mord. So now that his W isnt able to cast on minons, won't that just leave him in the same state he was in before? A useless ability that can only be cast on a ally to function? Or am I misreading something about this that makes him a better soloer now?

It is able to be cast on allied minions, it used to not be able to effectively allowing him to solo lane.

When they say reverting they mean reverting it back to how it used to be able to be casted when it only dealt damage. This is exactly what it says:

"NEWNOW WITH MORE SORROW Can now be cast on allied minions (melee and caster minions have smaller rings)"

It was a typo in the post. Supposed to mean "now". pretty sure they edited the patchnotes and fixed it, but ofcourse a screenshot wont change

TBH Jayce is a good pick. He has really good burst potential and can be played effectively in 3 of the 5 roles. That being top, mid, and (rarely) adc.

I have found ways to make Chogath work in every role except ADC, he is a fun pick whether you go pure tank or AP omnom assassin

Shyvana can be a good tank or fighter, and can go jungle if she has to.

In my opinion, shyvana top is really bad. She had no hard cc, low early damage, autopushes when trading, and has meh damage later on. Shyvana jg however, great clear, great synergy with devourer, great counter-ganks, can solo dragon very early and can assassinate squishies if ahead with her ult in teamfights.

yeah, I really prefer her jungle myself as well...but top is do-able...sorta.

Seriously being able to have a chance to play a semi "tanky" mage is something I just don't want to pass up the chance on.

And having fun in game is important to me as well. Heck I have fun with this build for Malzahar : item 3116 item 3174 item 3146 item 3071 item 3512 item 3020 Its hilarious watching this build work.

Rylai's and Sterak's are pretty serious and I believe are considered core (not 100% on Sterak's but it should be). After that it is pretty situational.

Yeah, I learned quick just how good item 3116 is on him. Kinda like how item 3089 is core on Veigar. Just to much synergy to pass up on them.

item 3124 Has massive synergy with him, maybe moreso than Jax or Kayle, but requires a tankier build to make the best of. Try either rageblade rylais full tank or gunblade rylais

I'll probably try out the gunblade with rylaiis first and then later try him out with the rageblade. I'll probably test them out first in bots to see what kind of potential they have. Thanks for the advice!

Personally I take Morde in the jungle. item 1401 makes sure he's a little beefy followed by item 3146 then you build AP Health items with MR and Armor works great.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Tahm's decays over 6 seconds, but with a coming nerf it will happen over 4 seconds.

Gotta try him out solo lane right now :) Finally, Morde got his 3rd ability back. I'm not fond off the ghost bonus ad scaling change, but it's just because of build I prefer. Time to shred!
