When Malz first got reworked everyone noticed his was utter horse shit and went AD Malz jungle because that's all that was good about him anymore. They then removed his ability to jungle. Then everyone went back to normal Malz. Malz then was nerfed again because he was still too strong. Then everyone took him support. He was yet again nerfed. Everyone continued to play him mid and supp. He was yet again nerfed. Everyone stopped playing him altogether except mains. He was then again nerfed for being too strong. Now no one plays him anymore. He was again nerfed for being too strong. Thus is the sad lyfe of Malz.

Malz was balanced. People are just too stupid and cry about him because they refuse to itemize properly. Let alone that fact they also just walk into Malz face first trying to 1 v 1 him and whine saying OP unbalanced when his kit is made to take down solo targets.

Before going directly to him, they first nerfed movement speed on minions. Basically they did a lot of nerfing to him, and people are still crying.

AP Kog'Maw can still work just not as effectively. Runes like presence of mind are probably the only reason why he is able to work at all. However presence of mind doesn't even work properly on AP Kog'Maw, when spamming the 400 mana R you don't get 400 mana back per cast for some reason.
