The Purpose:

The purpose of this minor study was to compare the effectiveness of items purchasable in the shop listed as Life Steal, whether by it's inclusion in Mastery, Runes or Items.

Target: Elder Drake Champion: Ashe Level 1

Runes: 1.5% Life Steal 9% Attack Speed 8.5 Attack Damage 9 Armor / 12 Magic Resist

Mastery: Ferocity --> 5/5 Vampirism Resolve --> Perseverance

I tested all completed items under Life Steal from the shop in combination with Infinity Edge and Static Shiv.

The Results:

Scenario A -- Success -- Bloodthirster 20% LS

AD 217 AS 0.99 CDR 0% LS: 25% Crit: 50%

Scenario B -- Failure -- Death's Dance 0% LS

AD 215 AS 0.97 CDR 10% LS 4% Crit 50%

Notes: The Damage received Bleed over 3 seconds is better utilized against Champions.

Scenario C -- Failure -- Blade of the Ruined King 12% LS

AD 175 AS 1.14 CDR 0% LS 12% Crit 50%

Notes: The active is only usable on Champions.

Scenario C -- Failure -- Mercuial Scimitar 10% LS

AD 175 AS 0.97 CDR 0% LS 17% Crit 50%

Notes: The active was under utilized for this test.

Scenario C -- Failure -- Hextech Gunblade

AD 175 AS 0.97 CDR 0% LS 4% Crit 50%

Notes: The Heal for 15% of damage done was under utilized.

Findings:

It is my opinion that Bloodthirster is the best purchase for all around Life Steal, excluding actives and passive uses.

The thing is you won't have full build at level 1, by the time you get full build, you will be level 17 or 18. Plus it is known that adcs scale better with items than levels.

Wouldn't the healing from bork %damage make it godly vs elder?

Interesting results. Do you by any chance know the dps of elder?

I used the same Runes and Mastery for L1 Teemo to a successful end. I used Bloodthirster, Infinity Edge, Static Shiv + Wit's End. It's kind of impressive how strong BT really is...
