Can we not bring back ap fizz?

I'm not the biggest fan of ad fizz, and maybe he does need some tuning, but his gameplay pattern(although still rather sketchy) is sooo much better than ap fizz,ad fizz needs to stick around to do his damage, and spend his mobility to chase down and stick to a target,ap fizz uses it to instagib his target and prevent almost any retaliation aiming to stop him from doing so.

Please do not buff ap fizz, that abomination cannot possibly work and will always be unhealthy.

Here's my counterargument: The thing with AD fizz is that he delt a ton of damage to both squishy targets and tanks while being relatively tanky himself and having his e and q to avoid being hit. There was no really good way to counterbuild him/deal with him.

With AP fizz on the other hand, he needs to invest a ton of gold into buying AP items in order to deal damage and can be counterbuilt. This results in him being less tanky and more squishy, meaning he is less safe to play and needs to be played smarter.

While being oneshot by AP fizz was a pain in the ass, there were ways to avoid it and counter him. AD fizz, far less so.

Well, magic resist works vs his w passive, whereas armor and hp works vs everything else.

It also kills almost all counterplay to him,as one full rotation of his spells kills,is done immensely fast, and is chained through mobility and invulnerability(to kill counterplay).

Quite to the contrary,ap fizz would get his entire burst uninteruptted(because almost nothing could stop it),and said burst would be fatal,so sure, itemizing(for those who's build has that option at least) against ad fizz is harder, but at least there are options to deal with him aside from "let's hope his pointclick combo doesn't instagib me",to me it seems the amount of complaints about fizz has also gone down considerably, even though he is about as strong(if not stronger) than before. anyway if that's their issue with him, just turn his w % damage into physical and itemization problem is solved, even though I disagree it to be as big of an issue as you claim it to be.

AD fizz will nearly always build BORK, causing him to deal 8% current health as physical damage and 8% missing health as magic damage. That's a massive amount of damage, and split between the two in a way that makes it difficult to itemize against him due to hybrid damage.

Counterplay to AP fizz? You can counterplay him via itemization (banshees, zhonyas, qss, GA), dodging his fish either with flash or a champion move (Avoiding the fish cuts fizz's AP damage immensely), or forcing him to use his e to gapclose/avoid one CC and then hit him with another. Most importantly AP fizz is far squishier, so if he makes a mistake/you outplay him it's easier to capitalize on. High risk high reward. While the extent of the risk is arguable, it is certainly more risky to do so with 2000 hp than with 3000 hp. And AP fizz has issues VS tanks (which with the current meta are on the rise), AD fizz...not so much.

Look if you don't know this yet,it's time somebody told you this: counterplay very rarely lies in itemization,or builds(this isn't dota),a champion has a standard build path which he just can't deviate much from, say you are playing lux vs fizz, you wanna rush zhonyas?qss?ga?banshees? for the carries(ap and ad) and to a lesser extent the support(not the tank ones) these items are very late game and most of the game will be played without them, sure if they manage to drag it long enough then it's fine, but very often they won't(in fact most games are decided early-mid),and fizz will get completely out of control with absolutely nothing serious(no,if your adc is behind and isn't doing much damage now is not the time for GA) which can be done about him. as far as the tanks go,he won't build mpen,so some mr item+attack speed reduction(randuins/frozen heart) are good options, sure they won't cripple him,but most bruisers deal solid mixed damage regardless, some even deal true, not only that, things like locket and randuins will give you solid resistances vs fizz, and will fit well against most comps.

most counterplay lies in abilities, and bruiser fizz is just much more vulnerable to cc,peel and doesn't just instagib his target in 0.5 seconds.
