Holy sugar-snap peas Riot actually listened to us.
They actually agreed that they new minion block/pathing system is complete and utter garbage and are actually REVERTING it back to the old system.
Is this real life? Is this actually Riot?

"They're removing minion blocking because it might inhibit Lee Sin's ability to make LC$ big plays."
Now give me upvotes.
yes sir [slayer-jinx-catface]
At least you're honest XD.

I gotta make up for all the downvotes I've been farming the last few weeks as a Yasuo apologist. Balance is important man.
Balance is a fool's master.
You should know, you main Yasuo.
Ok, had to get that jab out of the way. Godspeed noble Slamurai.
Ah, but that's what you don't quite understand! I don't play Yasuo for the elo, although that is often a side effect of being really good at him. I play Yasuo so much to draw attention away from my true freelo champion.
Whenever I absolutely need to win a game or climb quickly, I go right for my freelo squid, not Yasuo. Freelo Squid super OP.
We gotta take hits to defend our champs man, I feel u :'(.
I don't think I agree with your characterization of the post. Saying it's "complete and utter garbage" is a much more negative evaluation than what the article says. In the article, it reads "[The new system is] a predictable system that isn’t playing nicely with other systems, and when it does work it’s a little more frustrating than we’d like." They're saying that the new system meets their goals of predictability, but has some issues which they will be working on. "we’ll be switching it back to the old behavior in all of its unknowable glory while we work on and dig more into the pathing system."
I don't think they're agreeing that the new system is garbage. I think they're acknowledging the overabundance of issues, and therefore tabling the update until more bugs have been worked out. Ultimately, I believe we will see this new system implemented once the bugs are worked out.
Well of course a fellow Rioter wouldn't just outright call another Rioter's work "complete and utter garbage". That's a good way to get sent to Tryndamere's office.
She's just being very diplomatic about it. "More frustrating than we'd like" "Isn't playing nicely". Those are phrases that mean "Holy crap this thing is causing a lot of problems". Gotta read between the lines here.
And certainly there's going to be a new system eventually. "All it's unknowable glory" seems to imply that the code is difficult to work with and unpredictable when implementing new things. They're looking to make a system of pathing that gives you predictable results when adding things to it, unlike the spaghetti code they have now where new things have an equal chance of working perfectly or summoning an Old One.
That's a good way to get sent to Tryndamere's office.
I've obviously been in school too long, cuz I instantly thought of Tryndamere giving out detentions.
Academy Tryndamere confirmed.
Riot listens to people all the time, but so many people think they have an idea of what the "right" way to go about doing things is. So someone is always gonna end up disappointed. It's the vicious cycle of change.
Is this real life?
Or is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide.
No escape from reality.
Ha! As if they would listen to the Gameplay board. No, they collected data from their own game. The problem was so glaringly obvious that Gamplay actually got it right this one time.
Okay first of all, they listen a hell of a lot more then you should be giving them credit for, don't dismiss past times they have listened.
Second
They actually agreed that they new minion block/pathing system is complete and utter garbage and are actually REVERTING it back to the old system.
They agreed that the new system was a problem because the predicting pathing system (that they haven't touched) was crap and making your character take a lot of the worst routes. The actual creep block was gone, your character just moved around them because the old system thought it was the most efficient.
i NEVER had issues with the old system lol
I did. Having that 1 castor minion decide to explore tribush just because the god of spaghetti code commanded it was both maddeningly confusing an irritating. Or when all your minions go from attacking your enemy laner to focus-firing 1 minion at a time for no apparent reason.
That said, the old problems popped up somewhere in the vain of.... once a week? Once a month maybe? Where the new system eliminates that problem by creating impassible terrain around anyone within range. Every. Freaking. Game.

... classic stuff.
I had issues with the old system sometimes but at least I knew what to expect.

idk, I feel like the new system is actually more predictable.
Unfortunately, that's largely because minion block happens whenever you expect it to, which is all the time.
4 years of training myself in how something works without even knowing it was happening is more my issue with the change.

Got'cha.
Yeah, I think if the new system were a genuine improvement, though, you wouldn't have to train yourself to it, it'd just work as you expect. And although you've spent 4 years on the old one, you'd be able to adjust quickly because it "just works."
It works up until you are trying to move and can't.
I was even playing my favorite floating bed sheet Sona and this happened.
hope they throw this in there
KhateyKhaos the god of the Riot employees
It doesn't help that the minion's collision box is like that of the damn Titanic.
#riot Thank you!
