The Rage of the Emperor

I want to start by saying that I in no way think this will be a 'GOOD' build. I'm just curious to see if it even works.

So I'm needing to do a bit more testing to see if this is even valid, but I noticed that Sated Devourer's Phantom hit would proc on-hit effects while Azir was attacking with his sand soldiers. The trouble is Sated Devourer on Azir was, ... well, stupid. Jungle Azir in general was/is pretty dumb. ...

However, now that the Phantom hit has been transferred over to Guinsoo's Rageblade, this could potentially be something, .. probably not something big, but something none the less.

Guinsoo's Rageblade gives a good amount of AP and attack speed, which are great on Azir. It gives a decent amount of AD, which is not so useful, but can still be good for those situations where you need to auto attack while your abilities are on cooldown.

As I mentioned, I haven't really done any actual testing with on-hit abilities in game yet. I'm honestly not too sure which items would even be worth it really.

My first thought was item 3074 & item 3748 Because it would be easy to be able to tell if they were actually being proc'd, but unfortunately they are melee only and Azir is a ranged attacking champion. (However, item 3085 does not proc while Azir is attacking with his sand soldiers. It could be that he is considered to be a melee attacker at this point, so it might work, which would be AWESOME!)

Otherwise there are of course the following items.

item 3115 item 3044 > item 3184 , item 3071 item 3057 > item 3025 , item 3100 item 3078 item 1043 > item 3153 , item 3085 , item 3091 , item 1416

Should also proc the Furor movement speed on your choice of boots.

I'll try and test this out soon. If anyone else would like to try it out and wants to reply with your findings before I get around to it, that would be great.

They attack along with his attack but he does not actually fire a projectile. The resulting damage is dealt as an ability, which also applies spell effects. However, I do know that with Devourer he did trigger Phantom hits as a ranged champion and apply on-hit effects. I'm not sure if this interaction carried over to Rageblade. I did build it on him the other day but I didn't pay enough attention to be able to tell if it was triggering during attacks with sand soldiers. I did however see that it triggered when he attacked without them. Unfortunately, the game ended shortly after I got it.

Sad story. It simply doesn't work. Idk if Riot decided not to carry this over or if it was even just a bug with Devourer to begin with. When Azir does his standard auto attack he does proc a phantom hit and applies on-hit effects, like normal. When attacking a target within range of a sand soldier, Rageblade does still attack, but no phantom hit, and thus no on-hit effects. </3

The new rageblade probably works with his soldiers.

I tested it already. Attacking enemies within range of the sand soldiers does give you stacks but does not cause Azir to do a phantom hit at 8 stacks, so no on-hit effect.
