Poppy W and fizz E

JhomasTefferson··3 votes·1,116 views

So until now I never thought fizz's e was broken...

Until I played Poppy into him. Poppy's w is supposed to "stop all dashes", yet it doesn't stop fizz's e. I hope this is a bug. If its not its broken. Rito pls fix.

Edit: to all people saying that he should ignore it since he's untargetable... untargetable is not the same as invulnerable. I noticed this when reading the patch notes on 6.21 in relation to master yi's q, where they specifically say they are not the same thing.

Poppy is like 10 times stronger than fizz right now, so no.

And fizz E isnt a dash.

fizz E isnt a dash

JhomasTefferson2 votes

ok... is pantheon's w a dash? is aatrox's q a dash? is the movement off grave's ult or Caitlyn's e a dash? is gnar's hop a dash? is trist's rocket "jump" a dash? is jax's q a dash?

the tooltip doesn't say dash. it says hop/jump just like fizz's e, or knockback... yet poppy ult stops all of them.

Dashes are identical to leaps/jumps. There is no vertical axis in the game, so the only difference is the animation.

The difference is that Fizz is untargetable during his E and as such isn't affected by Poppy's W.

Untargetable isn't the same as invulnerable. check patch notes.

Untargetable meaning that incoming damaging ability or CC by point & click/skillshot will not affected him, whereas invulnerable means taking 0 damage in the meantime. In this case, as others have already said, Fizz's E makes him untargetable making him immune to Poppy's W.

All of their dashes do not make them untargetable.

Invisible units are untargetable, yet still affected by aoe. how does that work then?

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

Invisible units can't be selected as a target of an ability or autoattack (since you can't see them to click them), but they can still be hit by AoE abilities.

JhomasTefferson2 votes

ok... so shouldn't fizz work the same way... except you can see him?

EndlessSorcerer2 votes

You can see him, but he is untargetable for the duration.

He technically doesn't exist on the map for the purpose of abilities, therefore he can't be hit by any of them (with the exception of previously applied DoTs and tethers).

Invisible from vision thus making them impossible to point & click without Pink Wards, but landing a skillshot on them still affects them. Invisibility (or stealth) is a mechanic, and Untargetable is a state. It's two different things.

  1. fizz's e is not a dash
  2. i do not think this is ideal grounds to consider fizz "broken" off of
  3. poppy's w already stop's fizz's q
JhomasTefferson2 votes

poppy's w already stops lee sin's q, so it shouldn't stop his w too right?

I didn't say all of fizz is broken. just his e.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

Fizz is untargetable during his E and as such doesn't interact with Poppy's W.

Functionally, his E is far more similar to a blink than a dash. Rather than traveling the distance between two points (dash), he disappears from the map at one point and appears at another (blink).

If you want another example, Maokai's W works the same way. He "dashes" to the target while untargetable and bypasses Poppy's W since he technically doesn't exist on the map during that ability.

Working as intended.

Untargetable isn't the same as invulnerable. Check the current patch notes in relation to master yi's q.

Untargetable means that the champion cannot be hit by any abilities as they technically do not exist on the map.

Invulnerable means that the champion cannot take damage but they may still be targeted.

Master Yi's Q makes him untargetable (but not invulnerable) just like Maokai's W, Fizz's E and Zed's R.

I am well aware of how abilities function and interact. If you aren't, I would recommend checking the definitions and descriptions on the wiki.

Fizz becomes untargetable while he is using his E.

Since he cannot be targeted, he ignores Poppy's W.

JhomasTefferson2 votes

its not a targeted ability. and untargetable isn't the same as invuln. see patch notes on yi's q

Ezreal Kassadin Katarina Lissandra also all get through Poppy's W.

JhomasTefferson2 votes

those are all blinks.

she stops every other non blink based movement ability besides vi's ult, which specifically says "can not be stopped"

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

False.

Non-blink movement abilities which aren't affected by Poppy's W include (but are not limited to):

  • Fizz's Playful / Trickster
  • Hecarim's Onslaught of Shadows
  • Jarvan IV's Cataclysm
  • Kalista's Fate's Call
  • Malphite's Unstoppable Force
  • Maokai's Twisted Advance
  • Nocturne's Paranoia
  • Rek'Sai's Void Rush
  • Sion's Unstoppable Onslaught
