am i the only one who thinks that new dragon rewards suck

its totaly not worth to take an early dragon with the new changes

it gives no gold and the buffs are literaly crappy until you kill 5 of those which takes 25 minutes minimum

it just seems more profitable to me to just farm than take this dragon because your team wil win by gold easy (their dragon gives basicaly nothing while you have items and maybe a tower, then you pressure them and they dont get another dragon)

i tried loads of ways to see the dragon beneficial in any way besides udyr soloing it from time to time (but madstone gets removed so he wont do it)

u take it for the benefit of not letting ur opponent take it

since the guy already dug up the thread

my point is that it might be more beneficial o ignore enemy team while they go dragon and get towers instead or get enemy team at dragon

6% ad and ap is nothing untill you get strong items (apc will need a rabaddon to get any noticeable amount, adc will need some good crits)

the third dragon is quite nice because whatever movement speed you get is realy helpfull, but the first and the second one do the most in late game while you want to take them realy early

Buffs 2-4 are a little underwhelming (particularly the bonus damage to minions/monsters), but buff 1 is actually kind of crazy in my opinion. It's percentage scaling, and can easily add up to 20-30 bonus AD/AP over the course of the game. May not seem huge, but those kind of edges subtly lead to a larger percentage of fights going in your favor. (Think about all the times you just barely kill someone before they kill you.) Plus, the bonus effectively multiplies in team fights.

yes, you're actually the only one who thinks that

on the bright side you have a unique opinion

unfortunately it's wrong.

lets put it in a scenario enemy team takes dragon while your team takes bot and mid towers

then you wreck them with gold and get yourself a pet dragon to outscale them

i think by simple logic which says that late game buff is worthless in early game, so if im able to (this is the part where it gets tricky) get a tower i think that im gaining more early than a dragon would give me

Not to be nit picky but drag re-spawn timer is 6 not 5 minutes so its a minimum 30 minutes to get 5 dragon, also that is assuming you take 0 time to kill it and get it as soon as it pops every-time. So realistically its closer to 40. But otherwise i don't have an issue with new drag buffs. The maths been done (Saw it in another thread didn't save don't feel like digging it out) and it shows that for the buffs you can actually do comparison math on, that you are getting more than your money's worth, especially late game.

I wouldn't say drag is bad, just really under whelming. id say before drag change, drag could be traded for 2 turrets, now days id say its 1. But drag is really about the build up to 5. So its a little weaker to compensate. IMO i don't like it since it really effects the balance the early game comps with cork and pants or lee that can't snowball as hard off the few early drags.

Drag buff 2 is game changing. If you let them get one they're 6 minutes closer to #2.
