All I ask of Solo Queue ADCs

As I fight my way through Silver I and on to Gold, I've noticed, that most games are decided by competency/incompetency of the ADC. I'm not a great player by any standards, but after 3 losses in a row to questionable ADC decisions, I finally ADC'ed just to make sure smarter choices were made. And playing ADC is really hard (the amount of focus and positioning needed is a lot). But I realized that there are 3 things that a decent amount of ADCs down here in Silver need to remember:

  1. In teamfights: your safety is #1 - especially late game. Too often I see Tristanas or Jinxes run through the entire enemy team to get that last auto on the fleeing champion. Don't, you're worth more alive.
  2. In lane: back if you have 100 health. Also, if everyone and their mother comes bot lane (love double teleport), just leave. They're going to take your tower either way, just if you stay, you're going down with it as well.
  3. While your safety is pivotal, you also have to participate in teamfights as well. Come mid/late game, you do the most damage, so if a teamfight is going down, make sure you actually are in the fight AA-ing what you can (safely).

All I want is these 3 tips followed. I'm not that great of a player, and I don't like playing ADC (the pressure on positioning and perfect farming is immense). But all I ask is that other Silver ADCs do the same, so that if by chance I win lane as mid/top/support-bot, I know I have a conscientious DPS machine to help back that up.

To be fair, 1 and 3 conflict with each other.

What I want is for ADCs to recognize the difference between support poke and all in.

  1. Don't go all in if I'm playing a poke support and they aren't low/we are and I just used my peel to harass them (although contributing a little poke as well if possible/safe is appreciated). Do go all in if I've managed to poke them down to 1/3 and the minion wave is in a decent state.

  2. If I'm going Ham as a tank support against a really squishy support (i.e. Sona) and you are an early game bully, go all in even if we're slightly lower than them. We will win the trade if you actually commit. If you don't or halfheartedly commit, then we will lose the trade. (While playing Braum a Draven adc refused to go all in on a Sona and Trist early levels because they had 25% more health than us. When if he had hit Sona 3-4 times with his axe she would have died. Then I was to blame for going in.... So frustrating)

  3. If you see a glowing blue sphere around your support, let them last hit tank/melee minions. Even in late game.

People will usually blame the ADC for lost fights, but really, if you can't or won't form a front line, it's not our fault. It's not out fault when you completely ignore that we're jumped on. It's also not our fault when you decide to fight when we're not there. There are a bunch of other things that my teams have blamed me for that weren't my fault, but those are the big ones.

Yet from ADC POV the jungler initiated a fight and used CC on someone he shouldn't have. From the ADC PoV the jungler didn't gank enough. Lost map pressure

From the ADC POV he has lost 2 games because his jungler was incompetent while the enemies jungler knew what to do.

After all, all the ADC needs is for his team to protect him and cc targets so he can do his job.

It's not always so black and white, you see it as the ADCs fault and he sees it as yours
