okay so before the pre season. I used to build botrk and trinity force. and go tank or get attack speed items. and do well. now rageblade gunblade devoure into tank. honestly. am really struggling to 1v1 a tryndamere now even with this build. jax is my most played champion . first champ i ever bought. 180k mastery. but i struggle with him too much in ranked. I can't do anything without having 5 people piling into my face in team fights and blowing me up no matter how tanky i am. just waste every ability and every ultimate into me. at least with yi i have his ult that basically a permanent gap closer that allows you to stick and delete people. can't seem to be able to do much of anything with jax nowdays. I can't play him in top lane because of how bad it is now that trinity force is nerfed. dont get me wrong rageblade is op but its not. a starting item in my opinion. trinity force gave u everything u needed. cdr attack speed. damage. some ap and ad. health. movement speed. the phage passive that jax needs a lot. and splitpushing. my winrate with jax is a lil below 50% in ranked now but even when I win its not like when I go and roflstop people with yi or graves. too easy to kite. the point is. how do I get people not to focus me when am jax. especially when my team is behind and am trying to carry

Im not a main but so far this season Ive been doing jungle and going: item 1305 item 3932 item 3146 item 3124 and then building as necessary.

Like usual with Jax it takes a bit to get rolling but once you get big you roll over people. Brought back a game where we were down 15k gold at 25 minutes with it.

Go in with dodge stance and turn on your ult. By the time Guinsoo's is stacked up, dodge stance has ended and you have maximum scaling for your ult. Hextech Gunblade is your best friend, and Maw is generally recommended.

Plat IV Jax main with 300k mastery points.

He is terrible toplane atm...you cannot firstpick him because there are 600 counters and even if you get a decent matchup you are still super easy to shut down. I always start Dorans Blade and push the waves in quick so the enemy toplaner has to push it back and cant harrass me (leaves me open for ganks but I can avoid dying)...I sometimes get a 2nd Dorans Blade but usually I pick up Pickaxe and Boots and work on my Rageblade. Once Rageblade is completed you can burst basically any champion, so try to get it as fast as possible. It allows you to come back from a decent gold deficit because its super strong when fully stacked. After Rageblade I go Gunblade and then always Triforce, the CDR, Phage passive and movement speed is definitely neccessary on Jax as you mentioned yourself...I usually finish the build with Steraks and Banshees/Maw/GA. Try to push side lanes and pressure the enemy to either commit to you or to engaging on your team. If they go for you your team has to be smart enough to take atleast 1 meaningful objective, if they go for your team you can take the enemy inhib extremely quick. Switch to the other sidelane then and repeat the same. Obviously this doesn't work if your team is already too far behind and since your team is always behind when you pick Jax top, he is a horrible top lane pick.

In the jungle he is much better because he can free farm and get fed off ganks, Sated Devourer is also extremely broken with his ult passive. The damage is insane. Most jungle Jax' I see go tanky after Devourer but I go the full damage build too, Devourer, Rageblade, Gunblade, Trinity, Steraks and Ninja Tabi. You have insane burst and dps and can kill baron when it spawns with 1 other teammate. (If you are really fed you can even solo it).

So yeah generally, play him jungle, not top and don't waste your gold on tank items because you will die anyway since damage is extremely high across the boards atm. Instead just go damage so you are able to kill the fed adc while relying on the right timing of your E and R to stay alive.
