Split pushing is a very team-oriented playstyle when done correctly. An aware split pusher will constantly look at the map to know when to back off to a safer location, when to push to exert pressure on the map, and when to TP in to a fight to help his/her team. Coordinated teammates will push as hard as they can while you split to stop/delay a lot of people from collapsing on you, or take an important objective while you distract the enemy team. If the entire enemy team contests Baron (if you are splitting bot), then you can easily take one or more towers.
In my opinion splitting is one of the most team oriented play styles. It requires a ton of game knowledge and coordination for your team to pull it off effectively. It doesn’t work in the LCS because one they are pros and know what to do to counter a split strat. Two, the most dominant champs in LCS are team fight oriented. In the entertainment world splitting is less entertaining, viewers would much rather see crazy outplays in a team fight rather than a Yorick or Nasus splitting top and taking towers. (And also split champs like Nasus and Yorick have pretty weak early games that can easily be taken advantage of)
