plz upvote! why riot should heavily reconsider the new dragon/baron

If you are reading this and agree with my ideas, then PLEASE upvote this and respond saying "totally spot on. i agree the old dragon/baron was way better for the game. more fun, more exciting strategy options, i hope riot considers whether or not they are taking the game in the right direction"

we have the power, if im not alone and most people dont like the way riot is changing dragon/baron, we have the power to make riot notice and think about things. post once in this thread to give it activity, and upvote it as well, just doing that little thing can help us improve the game

i feel these new changes should heavily be cosidered by riot and how it effects LoL as a esport. i will try my best to explain my point of view. we want LoL to be as fun and exciting as possible, and i will explain why i feel in terms of game balance, and fun meaningful tactics, and i guess ultimately my opinion, on why the dragon/baron changes are a "bad / worse / more boring" direction for the game, and i think a different direction would be better.

when dragon gave gold, each one was very good and powerful for the team. when dragons gave too much gold it was a problem, but i think gold was the perfect reward because it could be balanced to not be "too much" but still function as exciting strategic option on the map with balanced risk/rewards.

sure, the current dragon rewards could also become that, but i feel gold was just a better overall choice for the reward and here is why

a nice spike in team gold always helped you pay for your big items to get them faster. and big items always gave you a nice burst of what you wanted in terms of stats. you could choose how to spend your gold for the stats you want.

now with the current dragon, first one gives more damage, woot great thats nice. and the next 3 dragons give more damage to creeps, movement speed, and tower damage. to be very honest these 3 dragons dont even feel like that much of a power increase and i wouldnt even bother contesting it if there was a risk of 2-3 friends dying because 2-3 friends dying gives the enemy team 1200+ gold which can buy a heck of alot of battle stats. the team gold from before was definitely more useful than the current dragons 2-4. now you could hypothetically massively buff the current buffs from dragons 2-4, or change them in some way, but that would just create a situation where some champions that benefit from those certain stats are better than others that dont use it as well.

Gold when given to champions will ALWAYS increase the strength of that champion in a fairly equal way where people can decide what to spend the gold on

but if you give all champions 5% movement speed, some do more work with that than others, making the dragon benefits much better for certain champions instead of being great for all champions and all team compositions

i feel changing the dragon back to rewarding gold (and maybe slightly less gold for later-in-the-game-dragons is a good idea) (and who knows, maybe less exp too) is much better for the game.

i feel dragon is much better as a gold objective that teams can fight over, or play the map and trade dragon gold for tower gold once again. i think it creates much more exciting strategic options

i feel the LCS would definitely be much more exciting for the average viewer, and LoL a more fun game to play and watch, if dragon went back to rewarding gold.

Next. for the new baron. I dont like the direction this new baron is going in because i liked how with the old baron you could see enemies doing baron and if you cant get there in time to stop it, you could possibly get there and kill a few people reducing the buff from being on 5 enemies to only being on 2-3 enemies.

also, if the enemy team took baron, you still had the power to play the map to try to setup a trap somewhere to kill 1 or 2 enemies to take the buff off them

every person you killed on the enemy team who had baron buff let you reduce the power of the baron buff. you could slowly play the map setting up traps and killing enemies 1 by 1 to try to reduce the power of the buff.

however now, with the new baron, killing 2-3 enemies does not highly reduce the power of the buff anymore. if the enemy team escapes with 2 people who have baron, thats all they need to get the full massive minion power up and do a 5man full powered baron siege with powered up minions

i think thats bad for the game. i really liked how before you had the option of playing the map, setting up traps, to kill enemies 1 by 1 to reduce the power of the 5v5 baron siege in the minute before it happened. but now, if you kill a few enemies in the minute before the 5v5 baron siege happens, it does not reduce the power of the 5v5 baron siege at all. even if enemies have 2 people with baron, they get the full powered siege, where as before 2 people with baron wasnt that big of a deal at all.

also i feel its much more fun overall to give the power of baron to the champions. it does not feel as fun buffing minions with it. give the power of baron buff back to champions, thats what this game is about, champions fighting champions. and having fun watching the outplay moments happen in those hectic 1v1 and 2v2 battles and 5v5 teamfights.

baron buff making champions stronger is the way it should be in my opinion, just possibly the numbers need to be reduced a bit

i feel the best direction for baron would have been to just keep the buff how it was and reduce the numbers so it is still a strong buff, but slightly easier to deal with. also i think a good idea would be to change baron gold to always be equal to a dragons gold reward

Lol the stacks aren't worth it? Huh

You understand the new baron and dragon are there to help with driving, clearing, and powering through, all different strategies that help different comps

First, I downvoted because of your title and spending the entire opening paragraph upvote whoring.

Second, old dragon was "oh look, they're doing dragon, let's take a tower", making the only tradeoff being the tower people opened up the map. The only way for the dragon to be better was if you had someone who could take dragons very early, fast (like Udyr). In addition, gold completely falls off lategame (damn, I'm sure the 6 item person really wants an extra 200 gold to do shit with). New dragon buff, while really, really derpy (basically 8% increased damage for first one, meh minion damage for 2nd, less noticeable (but very useful!) movespeed buff 3rd, structure damage, and then huge true damage nukes for everyone and double every bonus), is a lot better scaling and choice wise (do I take a dragon and hope for lategame power, or take a turret and go for instant gold and map pressure?). Yes, it does not give straight gold, though the entire point of the change was to get rid of that, so I think it's fine (fine being choice wise. I do think the buffs it gives and when need to be changed).

For baron buff, the entire point of the change was to move away from mostly invisible power (dang, I regenerate an extra 10 hp and mana a second and have 40 AP + AD) and into actual power (minions extremely buffed, still has AD + AP). The point of their change was to cement baron as a siege breaker, which it does nicely. Also, changing baron to be even weaker than it was is a really, really shitty idea. Old baron was a mostly unnoticeable stat buff, which only helped in extended sieges by slowly whittling people down. Not really exciting.
