How to build against tanks as ahri?

Hello. Noob question Again.

Say you're playing ahri, with an enemy gnar. its maybe mid-late game, he's starting to tank. lets even say you have a slight gold lead against him. I never seem to be able to win a 1v1 against tanks as an ap burst. not complaining, just looking for advice. I mean even with Void staff, sometimes I cant even get half their health bar with one combo. then what do I do? Do I just stand there bming him until cooldowns come down? advice appreciated

Kite and poke. While he's trying to chase you or what, try to lead him into your team.

Poke first, all in later instead at full hp.

You are not supposed to 1v1 him. Your job is to deal with adc and other squishy targets, but if you MUST deal with tanks I suggest item 3135

I suggest just standing there letting him attack you. Please make sure you queue up at the same time I do as well.

yeh basically what these guys said when youre playing a burst mage youre not supposed to be nuking tankd even with a void... Youre job is to deal with squishy targets and remove them from a fight. However if you find in situations where you are having to deal with them your CDs should make it easy to kite them instead. Qing to create distance while dealing damage as well as Ws and Es to help you further kite and deal damage. If they proceed to keep wanting to fight keep kiting them and you may be able to then just all in them.

Ahri isnt just a champ where shes got a basic combo to kill shes a kiting mage as well :)

Please don't explain kiting to this guy, the last thing we need is another toxic Ahri OTP ruining the fun in the game.

A general rule for league is that casters/burst oriented champions don't beat tanky champions

Tanks>Burst>DPS>Tanks

Plus as ahri you have a ton of mobility you should be looking to either poke while with your team or looking to pick from a flank like other assassin's

I can't tell you from Ahri's perspective, but I can tell you from a tank's perspective.

First of all (even though a lot of people already pointed this out) mages aren't supposed to take on tanks. In fact, anyone with burst is supposed to avoid wasting their combos in tanks since they'll be left with cooldowns. In teamfights, it's the ADCs job to kill the tank since auto-attacks are unlimited and AD assassins can't often go toe-to-toe with a tank. As a mage, your job is to deal AOE damage to the entire enemy team.

Now, if you're laning against one, your best bet is to outpoke them but make sure your mana remains at a good amount. Just remember that your jungler is your best friend. Try and get an early gank to kill them before they start building hp and resistances or you won't be able to later. If you successfully keep them from farming, they should be left without enough hp and resistances. Just remember to never all-in them unless you're absolutely positive you can finish them off because they can take a lot more hits than Zed.

You usually ignore Tanks as Mage and go for the value-targets. If you for some reason have to deal with them: 40-45% CDR and Kite for days.

Ahri vs tanks should have item 3165 item 3020 item 3135 item 3089 item 3102 item 3157

if you want to survive tanks lockdown grab aitem 3102 if you need to nuke them down quickly grab aitem 3135 . You should generally avoid tanks and go for squishies as ahri though. just hop around gnar.
