Not op.But with all that free cdr on items ,her ulti could use some cd nerf.Cause i saw ori players harassing enemy with her ulti. That shouldn't be happening.

TacoKingIII1 votes

Why not?

Chembaron Yamada6 votes

Because it is a strong AoE nuke with hard CC attached to it. It is a really strong team fighting skill and therefore you should consider to use it in these situation rather than "hey, I can just nuke that one guy with the damage, it will be up again in 44 seconds anyway".

The CD is too short for the impact that skill is able to have, it is a game changer.

XeroKimo2 votes

Back in my day, any base ult CD >= 80, was considered high, now it's considered low due to so many global ults that are like 120 at lvl 3.

Man how times have changed :'(

I want CD to be more scarce again, trade DPS for more burst or trade burst for more DPS, now it's not hard getting both, or not getting 600+ AP doesn't really hurt your late game dmg as much anymore

Wheatloaf11 votes

Alright, I know there's a lot of cdr on items, but calling it free when you literally have to pay for it is a little much.

DoktorKaiser9 votes

Why the fuck not:

  1. in lane its good for ori to burst the target down to 25% hp even if it means to put shockwave on cooldown because then she can zone and play aggressive, but it only happens if enemy sucks or plays a champion that sucks

  2. in late game its worth as fuck to remove 1 enemy player from the game, 95% of ultis are worth less than 1 enemy late game when respawn timers are 60sec

Anything else is just bad Ori play and a waste of ultimate.

Jet Sett2 votes

Number 1 seems like a bad idea all around. If she misses she doesn't have ult, even if she hits and starts being aggressive the enemy jungler can come punish that. The only way she could benefit is if her enemy jungler isn't capable of pressuring her, or her jungler is capable of diving the laner.

If it doesn't guarantee some high gains for its high CD using it is a waste, or at least SHOULD be a waste which is what this person is getting at. If you can afford to harass with a teamfighting ultimate then it's probably too good, or too weak, and clearly it isn't weak.

DoktorKaiser2 votes

Exactly, its not fucking worth 90% of time, but OP complained that it happens so I wanted to let him know why its sometimes used to harass but it brings so many risks like missing, getting fucked by jungler or getting counter comboed by enemy laner and all that for a moderate reward that is extreme zoning (enemy can just go to base lul).

Jet Sett2 votes

Well in that case it's fine.

Yep Perkz even used it for waveclear against SKT kappa

And? What does this add to any argument? Maybe everything IS overpowered. Disagree? Well then start presenting some actual arguments cause saying, "you guys think everything is op" is just you trying to stop people from complaining, regardless of weather there is reason to complain. It's the same thing with "Oh this hate on x champion is just a bandwagon", "Oh it's the x champion circle jerk". It's the ad hominem fallacy, cause you just insult the argument or its adopters, instead of presenting some logic to counter it.

FaytalityHD6 votes

Orianna is actually op though if you know how to abuse enemy laner early and also transitions very nicely into the later stages of the game sooooo..

TacoKingIII15 votes

Champions that are op if you know how to play them perfectly, include, but is not limited to: EVERY SINGLE ONE

MuffledGarbage1 votes

Except Aatrox ...

GULAG 4 U1 votes

Have you ever played the champion?

MuffledGarbage1 votes

yes, and even when he goes 3/0 in lane he doesn't snowball hard enough to do well lategame... I could play XinZhao Tryndamere or MasterYi and get better results at the same job as what Aatrox does, but in a different way (by killing the enemy faster than what the enemy can kill them instead of Aatrox drain their health and they lose eventually playstyle.

Orianna used to get forced into item 3028. now she can just rush item 3165 and take the mana regen in masteries. Bam, can harass all day

DoktorKaiser3 votes

Fuck me, after 7 years of being considered a gem that RIOT made in the midst of all the fuck ups they released in season 1 and early season 2, people are saying Orianna is op. Fuck. Me. Seriously people, champion who has no mobility or targeted abilites is hardly broken, learn to play and keep complaining about other actually op shit like Ahri or Kassadin...

SnakDatSmilesBak2 votes

I think there's a gradient of op-ness. Ori, imo, is only slightly op and here I will explain why.

Tldr: her mana costs and cooldowns were buffed slightly over a long period of time which resulted in making her easier to play and more forgiving.

Back when I first started to play league in late season 2, Ori was a utility mage. She did damage but not nearly as much as say Syndra or Annie. Her damage was comparable to someone like lux. Her full combo was rarely ever enough to kill enemies unless extraordinarily fed, much like lux you had to weave autos in between skills to maximize damage. Back then, Ori played the lane phase safely with the goal of scaling and teamfighting. Today Ori is a very safe and strong lane pick, she's easily able to bully champions who have shorter range and can safely lane against most champions due to her utility with her shield, knock up, slow, speed up, and displacement. She still has the same goal but has a much easier ti,e getting there.

So this begs the question: what changed since then? If we look at her patch history, her cool downs have been lowered and so have her mana costs. She's gotten some quality of life changes as well, related to ball placement. When Ori recently resurfaced in the meta, she stayed a relevant pick because of the above reasons. Note that I don't consider her overwhelmingly strong. She is powerful, but not overpowered.

My suggestion is to slightly nerf the damage on her q. Since I do not believe she is overwhelmingly strong I would strongly suggest a compensation buff to her shield. Specifically when the ball travels to a target to shield it, I'd like for it to do just a little more damage to targets it travels through (the same amount of damage nerfed from her q). Skilled orianna players would still do the same amount of damage in a full combo and her utility aspect is played up a little bit while nerf in her emergent lane bully status.

DoktorKaiser1 votes

Ok I will agree that she never runs oom which just wasnt the case in season 2, back then 3 combos would just drain you fully. But its not only her problem, its the problem that every mage has now, you NEVER run out of mana, only problem is that Ori uses it fully since she has both damage and utility and is late game oriented and top it all with free CDR that is spammed around these days and you get 40% cdr full build Ori with infinite mana which is fucking terrifying. What I am saying is - dont nerf Ori, nerf the fucking mana and CDR on items.

SnakDatSmilesBak1 votes

Yeah I agree fully that skills are too spammable currently. However, riot is showing no signs of slowing down with cdr. Cdr is consistently being thrown into every class and it seems like it's the direction riot wants to go with their game so who am I to argue with that?

I've posted before about the availability of cdr but since this discussion is about Ori I decided to focus on her.

It's called being trash players and being spoiled retarded kids that never got slapped in their life, they speak without thinking just by what their feelings make them spew out of their retarded mouth, today is the op champion, tomorrow is the toxic player. It's called making excuses and finding scapegoats.

Which is more tiring? Researching and learning the game so that you can have control over it watching billions of replays and doing hours of thinking... Or wasting 5 minutes to write a post calling whatever managed to hit you in game "overpowered" ignoring completely math? You tell me.

I'd be perfectly okay if Karthus, Sion, Taric or some other shit like that became 100% pick ban. I never rage when I die to champions like those because it always feels like it comes from something I did wrong that wasn't "Be within two screens of them."
