I liked it when she was smart. Now she's too damn bubbly and it's annoying as hell.

I think he is talking about lux's quotes. Recently they changed her quotes and now she talks like either a 14yo girl or someone who smoked too much weed.
Lux isn't immature? She is the embodiment of light. Even when things suck, even when the world is falling apart, she has resolved herself to stay positive.
Mature does not equal sad or dark. In fact, making the conscious choice to always take things in stride and never let life get you down is far more mature than being an annoying, emo edgelord.
And in her Elementalist skin, she is giving herself to forces of nature and changing along the way. Lux is actually an incredibly dynamic character. Just because she is happy and optimistic does not mean she is to be taken less seriously than, say, Yasuo or Zed.
Riot likes making their main anime characters never EVER shut the hell up, the main offenders being Lux and Taliyah. Every time they do ANYTHING they have some stock line that i just get really tired of hearing every 200000 times a game
She is the embodiment of light. She's an optimist. If anything, they hit her personality on the spot with the changes. It's not about creating a likable personality (or a personality that you like). It's about creating a personality that fits the characters theme, motives, etc. It's the same issue people have with Xayah. They say she is too immature and edgy and Riot knows that. Will they change it? No. It's meant to be like that. You aren't supposed to like every champion's personality just like how you don't like every person's personality. And in real life, people who you thought that you knew will often undergo a personality change and you'll be thinking, "why can't you go back to the old you?"

Elementalist Lux. She is still smart, just positive really happy smart. The worst kind of smart. She has problems as well (I think) she just doesn't talk about them.

Posativity and negativity have nothing to do with "rational thinking." These terms describe moods or emotions. You can't think yourself happy if your miserable through rational thought (meaning weighing by logic). You can only think yourself happy or sad by being exposed to simuli which produce these moods in you; in otherwords, the weighing is done by chemically determined responses to objects of thought (things thought of) and not by you weighing values. An outlook on life is only as positive or negative as the experiences which that life consists in. (This is why there is a reciprocal effect from thinking about things that make you happy and feeling happy---there is not some objective rule used to find happiness or "figure it out", but rather, your thinking of these happy thoughts is a happy experience, which, as a part of one's emotional experiences, is their mood. These definitions may now seem contrived... because they are; you are only describing emotion from the very beginning, and at no point does positivity or negativity--as a state of mind--actually have anything to do with logic or education)
^Logic and reason have nothing to do with happiness or sadness--I mean c'mon bruh, you're describing feels over reals. And this is why being educated has nothing to do with being "unhappy" (or even happy for that matter). One's descision to act a particular way depends upon what appears to be the best course of action for one's goals. For Lux, that is simply appearing happy in order to make others feel confident etc...for someone seriously unhappy with no intention of pretending to be otherwise it may very well be a bad idea to pretend you are happy ... hence the suicide rate (excessive humour and positivity are signs of clinical depression UNLIKE excessive pessimism or humourlessness) Besides, Lux was always bubbly, and yes, often came off as the ditzy blond sterotype or whatever, but it is part of her lore that that is an act. This is not at all at odds with her education. Now, wether or not she is actually happy at all, I have not read enough about her lore to know that. Kinda interested now.
Also, I have played Lux a bit lately (as I had stopped playing league for 2.5 seasons), and was wondering about her laugh. Is the old crazy laugh that everyone spammed gone? I miss it ;( I haven't been able to hear it when I use laugh (maybe she just has more than one laugh audio now and I haven't cycled through them all yet?
Right? I thought that Lux was suppose to be the daughter of well educated nobility, and her education is what helped her to exceed in learning not only tactics but also magic! Now all I hear with her Elemental skin is her throwing out a curse word every few minutes like a back woods trucker.
