I fear that if Morde turns out to be "ok" with a nerfed Rylais Riot won't give him ANY compensation

I feel it'll turn out like this; Mordekaiser mains are still going to keep playing their champ, trying to make him work and Riot will just go. "Oh, he's doing 'alright' so we'll just leave him there." Even if he requires so much more work to actually pull off.

His sample size is so low, only die hard mains playing him so he'll still do somewhat decent. The fact remains that he'll get hit, and after playing with it on the PBE it looks like it'll be a nasty nerf but Riot has a bad track record of giving Mordekaiser love when he so desperately deserves it.

Now, he really NEEDS a VGU but you can't just clap your hands and conjure one out of thin air. Until he gets that VGU he so desperately needs he could really be kept in a decent spot so that Mordekaiser players can have some fun with him while we await his time.

It's just that I'd wouldn't be surprised if Riot will just go "Eh, we don't even care about Morde being viable, he's doing alright, let's just leave him in that rough spot" instead of just making him overall more pleasant to play as and against.

Like, I'm sorry to spam the boards about this but I just really feel Morde will once again be just left in the dust :/

I fear the same thing. I just tried playing without Rylias, and it was BAD. So bad. No escapes, couldnt reach adcs for ghosts, blown up and melted, kited like Benjamin Franklin

It's rare, but we are out there!! I am part of the even smaller group that picked him up after the rework.

I actually love his kit and can put up with his bad base stats.

I think he just needs a movespeed buff of 10 THATS ALL

I played Morde twice, MM was right when he said his power scales with how little the other team knows about him. Completely bodied a vayne top while the other team just stood there while vayne/teemo ghosts were proccing their passives on them like crazy.

Oh, have no fear MM. Morde will most assuredly not be seen as "ok" after the Rylai changes. I can almost guarantee it.

How can I be so sure? Morde is not okay right now. He hasn't been okay for over a year since his rework. Even when he was god of botlane and ruling Worlds 2015 with an iron fist, he wasn't in an okay spot. Look at his pathetic playrate, the numbers are comparable to the time before his juggernaut rework.

And Riot knows. They have the same numbers. They know Morde deserves a redo on his failed update, and Morde players were screwed over by CertainlyT (crazy bastard tried to make a square peg fit into a round hole by forcibly grinding off the corners).

I hope there's a Rioter man enough to step up and take on Morde (I'm hoping for RiotRepertoir, since he's demonstrated he's willing to listen to fan feedback and make changes because of that). But I'd be willing to take any Rioter at this point except CerT. I don't care if it's one of the employees that handles support tickets or the guy that vacuums the carpets of Riot HQ; they can't do any worse than CertainlyT did, that's for sure.

  4. MM keeps on nagging Riot for couple of months
  5. Riot "hmm we see Mordecaiser not doing his best, so.. We are nerfing his health regen. That will fix him!"
  6. Moth later at Riot "we decided to buff ADCs again, cause we aren't sure yet, but 70% winrate seems balanced for us"

I think Riot is capable of balancing their game like they have been for many years. It wasn't an accident that they created the most popular PC game in the world.

Yeah, true. But then they started their fiddle-faddle by: a) forcing metas b) keeping ADC as main power horses since S2 c) started balancing whole game using ADC as a ruler d) started this crap with dynamic & flex queue

I have SEEN great games fall because Devs became drunk on their succes and started forcing shit noone wanted.

Just best example:

Dynamic Queue and playerbase unhappiness

Mordecaiser and Cassio rework. Pretty much noone wanted them ~~nerfing ~~reworking them. Yet Riot did it. And they left their job half finished.

And i fear these posts will never stop. For real now: Can you just wait for the fucking rylais changes to hit live? And i mean the actual league client and not PBE? THEN playing some games and THEN let's see how rylais works out? If everyone would cry so hard about his main getting changes the board servers would'Ve already melted down. Like for me personally LeBlanc has been ruined. Even if people call her broken and such but i don't enjoy her playing anymore even if she's freelo to challenger. What can i do? Spam the boards until they revert LeBlanc which will never happen? Same with morde. It won't happen until riot has data about how morde currently does.So just do that.

Just to be the devil's advocate here but Riot rarely listens to this board. This board is mostly used as a discussion forum. A more constructive and efficient approach might be posting on the PBE boards, because those literally exist for reasons like this. Also Morde isn't a her :)

mm has PBE and has most likely already been playing with the changes and probably knows what he is talking about. Considering that MM by and large doesnt post very many winey posts. and generally makes suggestions that are reasonable and well thought out.

Pretty sure Morde won't be hurt that badly by the nerf. Actually Rylais will come out quicker which might improve his early/mid.

A little revert to his base hp/armor/movespeed would be enough.

It took Riot this long to touch Kalista andAzir .

Mordekaiser can likely sit in the dust for a bit. Buffing him when he is decent with the new Rylai's might just cause more problems than it solves. And any buff artificially inflates that champion's play rate, which artificially inflates their visibility, which increases frustration playing against that champion.

Mordekaiser is one of those champions who is much more frustrating to play against than to play as. Getting any sort of buff is more likely to get him nerfed harder than it is to help you.

Meh I'd go item 3116 item 3009 item 3078 item 3152 item 3053 and a situational item depending on what the enemy team comp is or how well we are doing.

Tanky build with 3.4K health and the steraks proc giving a large as hell shield while you beat down on people and steal there souls. and depending on the situational item could mean more health or damage.

Mordekaiser = Best waifu

Example build: item 3116 item 3009 item 3078 item 3152 item 3053 item 3026 and item 2138

Personal preference.

The only thing every Morde build has in common is this-> item 3116

Heck, even my 40% cdr Trinity build has a Rylais in it

Yeah it's basically his lifeblood, unless you somehow land the Q with a item 3022 or item 3025 you'll be left struggle to catch someone and even then the stats on the item 3022 isn't really worth it besides the HP for passive and the item 3025 gives mana which is useless and the item 3078 is more useful anyways with the spell blade passive and a movement speed buff when you hit things.
