310 armor 3k hp garen with w on and thornmail and still get chunked for 250 dmg a hit... death stats true damage dealt 44% 1300 damage

She is still alive with half hp because bork regens so much HP since the minimum vamp was buffed

She loses to... no one in lane now? All of her counters were nerfed and she was buffed this patch

I would say this is true except she is the most played adc right now and 2nd most played champ in general so 52% is very high

well first, ADCs are always going to be in the top played champions, it is impossible to ever get around that.

The last ADC to be in the most played spot was Jinx, and she was rocking a 54% win rate at the time. 52% is not very high.

Not really, the top 5 most played champs are Thresh, Vayne, Jinx, Janna and Ahri. Supports actually have a higher %play share in the top 5.

Also out of the top 20 there's 6 ADCs, but there's also 6 Supports.

2 ADCs and 2 ADCs in the top 4. AKA the 2 roles that are in every game.

I did say they were always the top played champions, i said they were IN the top. The IN is important.

It is in the nature of the meta and the way bot lane works. There is always an ADC and support in a game, and with the exception of out there supports, its a pretty damn limited pool for both of them when it comes to top tier picks.

Yes, because 51% is so high, right? That is a balanced winrate. It's not ridiculously above or below the curve. It's very slightly above the curve, which is well within the expected range a champion should be in. Kench was just buffed because apparently riot wants a champ to have a ~54% winrate after a player has had 30 games with them instead of a ~50% winrate; chances are most vayne players at this point have played 30 games already.

And no, I don't play vayne.

You should probably work on your reading comprehension and read the original post of mine. I was citing that as an example that she isnt broken beyond belief, and that 51% win rate is perfectly fine.

Exactly, win rate alone isn't indicative. But when you combined win rate with the fact that she has one of the highest average games played, it would make sense that her winrate is higher.

No, all having a larger amount of games played is it gives you a larger sample size which makes your data more accurate... It has no effect on her winrate just the accuracy of the data

Sire Hippington4 votes

cause people that play her more often don't get better with her. A Zed with 1 game played surely will be as good as one with 100 games played on that champ... For prettymuch every champ you can see in the Champion.gg stats that the winrate grows with the number of games played on that champ.

The most relevant stat is the winrate for 125+, as thats the average winrate of the 'mains', and with 52.5% on that end, her winrate is medicore at best. Vayne is just rather bad designed, a bit like kallista. If you have a setup that can deal with her, she's no problem, but if you have a bad setup against her, you can't really do anything. In the grand scheme, she's pretty balanced all around, but in those games where she gets going, she's overbearing to face and feels unfair.

but how is your original statement still true if you now are confronted with her ~50-52% winrate...

that makes no sense...

also ban, pick, stun, siege, burst her

also master yi and some other guys deal equal amounts of damage while having equally effective ways to stay in a fight...

with yi one can deal over 1k true damage in 4-5 seconds too, while still having more tank stats then vayne can build without being useless...

HighKingOfSkyrim3 votes

any adc with 2.0 AS, 300AD and 50% crit will do 4-5k normal damage in 4 seconds... so even if vayne does the same amount of normal damage and 1000 true damage additionally the steroids of other adc will balance this out if the enemy hasnt got like 310 armor and 3k life as you said...

it s not like she deals THAT much more damage...

"just cc and burst her" means she is broken Her winrate is 52% plat and above You can itemize against on-hit true damage by building health but not percentage true damage. Yi is a melee adc so you can actually attack and kill him and he doesn't have self peel and stealth to survive

The issue is vayne is too safe while dealing too much damage that is impossible to itemize against

Um, no, that means she has counterplay. That's how you beat most ADC's LOL. You CC and burst them. Thats how you kill most assassins and mages. With tanks you CC and whittle them down over time.

You my friend are so worked up over your hatred of Vayne that you are starting to think that ACTUAL counters mean nothing, when in reality they are super effective. You are biased yourself to the point where someone who actually has a clear head and uses logic to solve the problem and doesn't have difficulty with Vayne themselves, myself included, then you attack them with insults and say they are wrong and laugh at them.

So let's imagine a scenario where Vayne gets nerfed to the point where she is "unplayable".

Another ADC takes her place. People cry and cry and cry and complain about this ADC that is now stronger than all the rest and they beg for nerfs. Then another takes their place when the nerfs come. The cycle repeats itself. In DOTA, no hero is "better" than any other. The balance of that game is really really well done. But Invoker is "stronger" than every hero in the game. But the balance is great. The same applies to League. Some champions will barely be stronger than others. Right now I think the issue is with items, not champions, but that will get fixed in time. Vayne is NOT that much stronger than ANY OTHER ADC in the game. She isn't. The balance between ADCs is the best it has been in a very long time. There isn't a single one that I wouldn't play in solo que. Stop. F*cking. Complaining.

She is one of the best ADCs right now (on par with Jinx and Sivir), but saying that she's OP because she beats Garen... Really? Garen is a low mobile champion. He only has his MS buff for gapclosing. If I had to give an example of a "counter" in League of Legends, I'd say a ranged champion that can kite, for example Vayne/kalista against a non-mobile melee champion for example Garen.

I didn't say she was op because she beats garen, but used garen as an example because he is arguably the most tanky character in the game when built tank because of his W passive and active

If you build thornmail (the anti-adc item) have 310 armor, 3k hp, and a damage shield that reduces incoming damage by 30 percent, the adc shouldn't be able to kill you in a few seconds doing almost 50% of their dmg as true damage and also live with more than half their hp. And it's not like you can just "dive her" because she then drops stealth and then her team peels for her while you get your ass kicked and she condemns you away

Now that all of the adcs that used to beat her in lane got nerfed and don't see as much play (draven, caitlyn, graves, lucian), she doesn't have the weak early game before and can easily get to late-game status with little to no problems

If she is "on-par" why does she get played almost twice as much as the other adcs?

Names Are Scarce4 votes

You must have been doing something extremely wrong if she killed you in 2 seconds, while doing 250 damage a hit, while you had 3k HP. 3,000 / 250 = 12 / 2.5 = 4.8 seconds to kill you. That's if, any only if she had 2.5 AS, she stood there, auto attacking without any kiting. That doesn't calculate HP regen into it.

Also, since you just now mentioned that it was in a team fight, I do believe you should have waited for your team and not tried to 1v5 (you didn't mention your team doing anything). She has a fun play style and people enjoy playing her. She is one of the few ADCs that can kill tanks and, believe it or not, that makes people play her more during the Tank Meta. Why play against 3 tanks as an ADC that can't kill them when you can play as an ADC that can? Quite simple, really. She's not overpowered, she is just reliable.

After having a look at your past posts, I have noticed that everything you have posted has been a complaint. I've also noticed that you mostly play tanky champions, which is why you're crying about Vayne.

Personally, I like playing against Vayne. She's squishy, overconfident, and isn't nearly as strong as you think. Stay away from walls and she can't stun you. Place a pink ward in your bush in lane and she can't surprise you with her ultimate, which gives her a 1 second stealth (hardly OP). Her team focuses you, the tank? Good. That means your team now has free reign to get in there and smack them while you take their damage. Play the game right and Vayne isn't so strong. Try to 1v1 or 1v5 and she's a nightmare. Go learn the game, quit your crying, and stop making negative posts.

TL;DR: Vayne is extremely hard to punish, because she has so many safety mechanics. The second she is picked, you're obligated to win lane because you'll lose it by default if it becomes a farm off. At level six, she becomes one of the best duelists in League, and counterbuilding her is tough. Therefore, while not necessarily overpowered, she is rightfully hated because there are few and far between windows of opportunity to punish her, and she has SO MANY ways to keep herself safe.

Long Version:

I'm not the OP, but I'd like to chime in. Vayne is annoying because she's a relic of the past, when "Just beat them pre-6" (As laughable as that was) was considered legitimate counterplay. Plus, a tun of her counters were nerfed over the years, and Riot has no interest in making ADCs actually weak early game.

However, this is only ONE SMALL PIECE of the puzzle. Plenty of champions scale well. However, Vayne is also incredibly safe. She has a knockback (Potential stun), a low CD re-position and stealth. So, punishing her is often a very difficult endeavor. Does the list end here? Not at all. We're just getting started.

She's an incredible duelist. One of the best duelists in League, actually. So, odds are, unless you overwhelm her by devoting an incredible amount of resources to keep her down, she'll catch up even if put behind. It's even more difficult to put her behind because she is so innately good at beating people in a 1v1/2v2. So, here's ANOTHER REASON she's difficult to punish.

Surely that's it, though, right? Well. She has % max health true damage, which shreds the Hell out of tanks. That makes it difficult to even counterbuild her, in addition to counterplay her.

Add to this the fact that she also scales extremely hard, and she can just play it safe, abusing all of these defensive mechanisms. The second Vayne is picked, you play the Vayne Game. You absolutely must her behind and yourself ahead, because by default, you lose the lane if it becomes a farm lane. However, because it's so hard to counterplay or even counterbuild her, this becomes very difficult.

My final point to wrap this all up is that** people DO NOT like champions that they both hate and cannot punish.**They're strong, and they're already irritating, so people want to punish them for being a bastard. But, their safety strongly works to prevent this. Therefore, overpowered or no, she will always receive complaints. That is the nature of champions that are both extremely frustrating to play against and considerably safe.

All I see is people listing her strengths. Anyone ever thought about her weaknesses?

She has some of the lowest starting armor + armor per level scaling in the game, as well as one of the lowest health gains in the game. She is extremely squishy, so she is easy to burst if you catch her. She is also ranged, so her magic resistance stays at 30 for the whole game.

She also has a small mana pool coupled with a 90 mana cost on condemn. Early game she can only afford about 2-3 condemns before she is out of mana. That's when you engage, because she also can't tumble away.

On the account that it is hard to CC her because of her tumble, play someone with targeted CC like Taric or Ryze. In the event that you don't have targeted CC, throw an ability to force her to tumble out of it, then throw another to catch her.

PLAY SOMEONE WITH A BLIND/SUPPRESSION. Malzahar, Skarner, Urgot, and Warwick all counter Vayne. Teemo and Quinn can easily 1v1 her late game without problems. And to those of you who say that they "aren't viable" I think that a champion who can effectively shut down the enemy ADC, and then proceed to kill them, is viable enough.

Upgrade the trinkets. Throwing down a pink ward or an oracles lense in the middle of a teamfight can go a long way in shutting her down. Her stealth is meaningless.

Bait. Out. The. Condemn. Use someone who can get in and out of a fight to kill her and force her to use spells to keep herself safe. Then go back in with a partner to kill her once things are on CD. If she flashes or heals you have 5 and 3 1/2 minutes respectively to try again and kill her.

People say that fighting her is difficult. And I agree that it is. But it is no more difficult than it is to fight Lux or Sivir or Jax or anyone. Counterplay is there. I think what is defeating everyone is that she is banned so often these days that when she does get picked people don't know how to effectively fight her. Complaining about the problem doesn't make it go away. It actually makes the whole situation worse, because every moment you spend complaining about something is a moment that could be used to learn how to beat her.

Names Are Scarce2 votes

People would rather complain because she's "OP" than learn how to beat her. Every bloody champion has their strengths. Vayne isn't invincible. She dies just as easy, and sometimes easier than other marksmen. However, people want her nerfed because they can't be bothered to learn how to play against her, and they want to play their favorite champions, no matter which champion on the enemy team counters them.

They need to increase Vayne's skill floor. Her laning phase is really not as bad as people perpetuate. They could revert her ult's steroid buff many patches ago because it's not necessary, or they could lower her early game stats. Either way, she's way too popular and strong for an ADC that's supposed to require a LOT of skill to play well in the first place.

Up her skill floor, her ceiling is fine.

I'm not a Vayne main. I'm actually a Lucian main, who loses to Vayne in an even match up. And I agree with this post.

I've also started to play top more, which means playing tanks like Nautilus and Maokai. I've had to deal with Vayne. She's been the sole reason her team has either won or almost one.

She's necessary. She's a tank eater that takes skill to play well enough to not get shat on and lose the game for the rest of her team. Her true damage is not the issue; it's your team having a bad team comp, a sub-par comp that barely has CC vs their team that has so much defense, or your team simply just got outplayed.

Get over it. Deal with it.

P.S. UPGRADE YOUR ORACLES LENS.

So I heard you guys like to bitch about Vayne. Yet Shyvanna's ban rate is higher than Vayne's pick rate on Champion.GG. Lulz. She's working her way up to Kassadin level banning.

Shyvana herself is not broken. It is item 3930 item 3931 item 3933 that is making her broken. But it's not only her, a bunch of champions MasterYi Kayle Fizz are broken with Sated Devourer. And on my opinion Master Yi is even more of a problem than Shyvana. Kayle too. Even Vayne herself is broken with Sated Devourer.

League is based on timing, reflexes, decision making, communication, mechanical skill, knowledge, and a minuscule amount of luck. This doesn't exclude Vayne at all. It's really easy to spot and stomp a bad Vayne player.

It's easy to beat any bad player. I don't understand the argument.
