I think long range champions need to be reworked or something.

This includes mages and adc. Nearly all lanes are now overrun by them. Top can't have a normal fight without an adc or mage destroying them. Mid is infested with jhin(well he is kind of a mid, but not really) and ezreal's. Jungle is being conquered solely by graves. I mean they have their kits set up to basically poke anyone from across the field without risk. Most close fighters like Garen and darius can't do anything about that top, nevermind Nasus.

I mean you have champions like Yasuo and Yi who can get in close fairly fast, if they play it right, but most adc's have a knock back, slow, or stun of some kind. So by the time you have gotten close enough you have cced to death, or they have hit you from the distance enough where you would be very stupid to engage.

This goes double for mages. It is bad enough they have long range and their items are all tanky and very versatile, but their damage along with it just really kills close fighters. And I get it, it is meant to deal with them, but when is it too much?

It's actually assassins that have been dominating the meta and, as a result, squishies have found an easier lane by bullying top, since most of the fighters and tanks there lack the damage to burst them down.

Now, there are mages that just go top lane because, assassins or no, they're better there (Kennen, Ryze, etc.).

So the assassin rework will allow immobile mages and marksmen to return to thier respective lanes without getting killed before they can blink.

As for other lanes, mid adcs are often pretty weak since the mages often have better poke and the cc to prevent the enemy adc-turned-mid from succeeding in engages.

And Graves makes for a poor adc, he's annoying there, sure, but he's better in the jungle.
