Why do I see junglers with Frostfang?

Is it for the extra gold? Do you always get it or when you fall behind?

Frostfang actually gives comparable stats to item 3113, but gives the gold gen, some mana regen, and the passive. The tribute generation isn't disabled by killinh monsters, meaning junglers who can quickly apply all three stacks (Evelynn, for example) can get a decently good benefit out of it. (The tribute procs deal 18 bonus damage and grant 15 gold with every attack or damaging spell, which totals out to 54 extra damage and 45 extra gold you get per gank) These are often more than you would likely get if you got from a wisp. The quest helps with sticking to targets as well, and the gold gen gets you item spikes faster.

Gives good stats for AP Junglers and a ton of gold and some nice bonus damage for ganks and what not.

Never seen that and I doubt it's worth. Even if the extra income can make up for the cost at some point you are still delaying your core items.

You'd have to be able to gank very frequently and make consistent use of the stacks. So it's extremely situational and a huge gamble.

item 3303 is usually used by supports who have an opponent they can poke all the time and it's not like these supports are amazingly overpowered. Now think about what that means for junglers who have to spend time farming jungle camps. Can a jungler consistently get 3 hits on an opponent every 30 seconds? Or is it more likely that he has the item stacked up without a ganking opportunity?

It's cuz you're in bronze. But the passive doesn't get turned off when you kill jungle creeps. So you get passive gold and then some when u hit people with skills. Which basically never happens. It's bad

Starting an answer with ranking is a bit suspect there bro

IBgarbo2 votes

No. I didn't start it with that. That is my answer. You're in bronze, players suck and see pros build something and instantly go it without thinking about it.

Leaf on Bush1 votes

So you think you are better but you can't even come up with a good explanation why the item is bad on junglers... sad.

Bronze=absolute trash. Don't really need to explain further than that.

I saw NB3 play a Nidalee jg game with it, which is why I asked. Bronze players tend to copy what the pros do.

This is the problem, watching youtubers do things and copying.

Stop doing it. You bronzies can pick ryze and cleanse but will be useless, play whats meta, period.

Oh get off your high horse.

Don't you know that someone has to break the meta to create a new meta? Where is the Ashe mid meta? Oh, someone decided to try something different back in season 1.

Go experiment in normals and stay away from ranked

Do you say the same thing if I take Taric top or jungle in ranked even though I have "experimented" with him thoroughly already and he is by far my best choice in both of those positions?

Taric top was always viable, he can 1vs1 anyone late game

Im saying there are stupid picks that are sub par and will lose the game, and that includes wadting my time, i.e. Soraka jungle

And dont waste your time writing more because im right.

Sorry for wasting your time, but you said "play what's meta, period." That means don't play Taric outside of support ever for any reason no matter how good of a Taric player you are.

There are bad off meta picks, and good meta off picks, can you understand this or not ? Jesus i just did an analogy with soraka jungle that explains my point.

Plus discussion is flawed because taric is a good pick even in a sub par lane like top, support is his best and his win rate shows that, im a taric main btw.

Im talking about trash decisions ok, morgana jungle worked, heck she got gutted, but there are bad picks.

Most low eli cant use off picks, they just cant, thetefore the meta comment.

Pros can make fiddle jungle work, low elo are useless with him.

Taric can't 1v1 all, he lacks the necessary dps.

Oh really?

Second video I forgot to turn of microphone recording so the audio is messed up.

can 1vs1 anyone late game

... is what i was referring to.

Idk how a video about a level 7 Taric beating Kennen is relevant. Kennen isn't anyone, he is just Kennen. Lv 7 is not late game.

AlienPrimate1 votes

I misread that. I thought you said "can't 1v1 at all."

Leaf on Bush1 votes

Probably wasn't too hard to break the Ashe mid meta. lul

Frostfang on the other hand is designed to be efficient on supports only and Riot did multiple changes to keep it that way. xD

Didnt You Ward

To the original question, AP jungles would take frost fang due to the quest giving you queens tribute along with electrocute essentially gave you phase rush along side electrocute as well as being an extremely efficient item. You’re likely to see it less often because of nerfs in 8.2 tho.
