Can't get killed matchups, are they good for the game?

I was reading some stuff on how some champions match up and one thing that struck me is how in some match-ups one champion can die and still win the lane but if the other one dies at all, that lane is completely lost.

What I'm wondering are what are the match-ups where in laning phase that one champ is under a disproportionate pressure not to give up a death up and if these kind of lanes are bad for the game. I'm not talking necessarily talking about a lane match-up where one champ having an advantage over the other so much as the one where only option for the other guy is playing it too safe and not dying at all.

If you are talking about champions that can be behind 50 cs and some kills it would probably have to be this guy Maokai just from what I experienced doesn't matter if he is ahead or behind he is still going to be really strong in team fights.

I'm not sure there really are any match-ups where you're completely screwed if you die. Anyone can recover from 1 death.

Which makes it more a matter of early game vs. late-game champions. Just as there are hyper-carries and gods in late game, there are solid early-game champions as well to balance that out. And just as it's bad to eat a stun as a Vayne end-game and get deleted instantaneously without putting any of that late-game scaling to use, it's not great if you don't gain a solid advantage early as an early-game pick like Lee Sin or LeBlanc.

You could argue on the merrits of early vs. late power-spikes, but realistically it's pretty much impossible for those to not be things: so Riot embracing them and making them part of the game at least makes them a little more obvious, less confusing, and easier to play with.

malphite was one of those champs, so was galio. basically all champs with item independent utility.

I know that if riven gets firstblood, you're screwed.

Well if you are under alot of preasure then it means that he has a good pick against your more then likley or that you are misplaying the matchup.
