Riot, you say youre going to listen to us while at the same time you ignore us.

I never though i would have to say it, but for the first time after some 4 years playing this game, LoL is becoming boring and unplayable to me and many others. I was searching for any ounce of hope from you guys either in the form of a simple post or even a updated patch that would wash away this broken adc meta due to the ad items in which the games lasts less than 20 min, but for the title updated patch 5.23 all i found was an increase to snowballing with the FORCED minions change. That was my last straw.

So minions are now going to push the snowballing effect even more, and at the same time you wrote and i quote: Especially at higher tiers, wave manipulation (and what form it takes in league) is changing entirely. We're not doing this lightly, and we ask that you give it a shot and let us know what you think. We've got our eyes on it - if this isn't accomplishing our goal of getting the winning team to press their advantage (and instead, destroys the fabric of League of Legends as we know it), we'll quickly iterate and respond rather than letting it languish.

Are you fucking kidding me? How can we take you seriously, if you further trash the balance of this game almost beyond recognition, while boasting you listen to us (which you dont)??

I Just want this atrocious preseason to be over, i dont give a damn about giving it a shot when weve had this for almost a month already. You guys select customers to be listened only when they are praising you or making stupid jokes and memes, but when it comes to the most important part of this game which is the gameplay you DELIBERATELY ignore us.

I know preseasons usually are a ground tests for some deep changes in the game mechanics for the further months, but it is really hard to keep playing after soo many games in which you get stomped and wonder why your entire set of tanky and support champions is in the trash bin.

I hope you guys get a grip, and TRULY listen to us instead of circling us around. Were more than just players, in many cases (like mine and others) we are your customers in which we spend money out of love and passion for the GAMEPLAY of this game and we demand to be heard.

Thank you. Sincerely a old LoL player!

TL;DR "NOTICE ME SENPAI!"

They're taking feedback, and some are even responding when they have the time to deal with that sort of thing. Funny thing about radically shifting the balance of a game, you have to spend a lot of time and resources focusing on the details and making sure everything is functioning the way they intended.

Oh yeah, that's another thing. Just because you may not personally enjoy how a change shifts the game doesn't necessarily mean it was bad. It can mean that they made a mistake, or it can mean you're too focused on the effects of a change to care about the purpose of a change. More often than not, Riot makes a change for the sake of the game rather than the player, and too many players treat them like they're personal waitstaff instead of game designers continually improving their art.

If you have valid criticism, create a discussion. Spread that criticism to other players, get everyone talking about the problem. Someone will get an answer at some point, whether in the form of patch changes or direct responses.

They've ignored just about every thread that's asking about things people don't like. They don't care about the horrible state of top lane atm. Be tanky, bring corrupt potion and hope your champ has enough base damage to beat the other guy.

They don't care how broken raka and tahm are relative to other supports.

They don't care how the majority of AP champs are better off as support than going mid.

They don't care how some of the ADCs are getting completely left in the dust with the latest patch.

They don't care about the lack of jungle diversity now.

I haven't seen any red responses on those topics, or at the very least they're vague. Most of them are Syndra level, where they promise changes and several patches later, not even a single experimental tweak on the PBE, despite it being cited as an upcoming change.

Most of the changes are to problems people don't even notice, like swain, malz, skarner, etc.

They aren't even addressing things everyone considers major problems.

There's much less transparency than there used to be, and that's half the problem.

I haven't seen many threads talking about top lane, and most of the ones I have seen involve complaints about champions like Tryndamere and Yasuo with Warlord's Bloodlust.

They don't care how broken raka and tahm are relative to other supports.

Neither are broken, they are arguably overtuned at most, and Soraka already has nerfs sitting on the PBE.

They don't care how the majority of AP champs are better off as support than going mid.

Do you actually mean the majority, or Brand, Annie and Vel'koz?

They don't care how some of the ADCs are getting completely left in the dust with the latest patch.

Some got better, some didn't, and it's going to take time to get them all working at the level they want.

They don't care about the lack of jungle diversity now.

That one does bother me personally, but I'm still chalking it up partly to a lack of adaptation to the jungle changes. There are issues with the current jungle, but I can wait for smoothing out the jungle.

Believe it or not, they've got a lot more on their table than instantly gratifying the players.

I haven't seen many threads talking about top lane, and most of the ones I have seen involve complaints about champions like Tryndamere and Yasuo with Warlord's Bloodlust. Because everyone complains about them when they're popular. When aren't people complaining about them when they're commonly played? Just like people complain about Riven. All you have to do is play safe, punish, or pull your jungler up. Top lane is stale as hell at the moment, specifically outside of those two.

Neither are broken, they are arguably overtuned at most, and Soraka already has nerfs sitting on the PBE. They're broken and they pretty much determine the direction a lane will go just by being in the game. That doesn't win the game out-right, but it does have a significant impact on the results of the lane when played at anything close to a decent level, and considering the state of the game, pretty much goes hand-in-hand. Any other time that was the case, it was considered broken. Why not now?

Do you actually mean the majority, or Brand, Annie and Vel'koz? considering the majority that couldn't make it mid went top, but they can't survive there now, yes, I actually mean the majority

Some got better, some didn't, and it's going to take time to get them all working at the level they want. **I bet you they leave them in the dust while the ones that were reworked remain super strong, or get buffed until they are. **

That one does bother me personally, but I'm still chalking it up partly to a lack of adaptation to the jungle changes. There are issues with the current jungle, but I can wait for smoothing out the jungle. adaptation isn't a huge issue with the jungle; it never is. Certain champs just don't hit their spikes early enough now, or their core doesn't include a specific over-tuned item (or make exceptional use of it)

Believe it or not, they've got a lot more on their table than instantly gratifying the players. Actually, its the preseason. These changes are for the players. If they don't want to do it right, why are they doing it at all?

Putting your response within my quote box, instead of separating them, makes it a bit harder to directly respond.

  1. My point was not focusing on those threads, but rather the fact that those were the only ones I'd seen regarding the state of top lane. Sure, I wouldn't put it past this cesspool to drown out those threads with inane complaints, but it doesn't happen that frequently. I do scroll down to the second page more often than not.

  2. Changing the dynamic of a lane by existing has not ever been a warning flag for whether or not a champion is broken. Every champion is supposed to change how you deal with the laning phase. And I've seen games go both ways with these supports in the lane on the occasions that I have been playing regular matches, so either I got extremely lucky or it's not nearly as polarizing as you say.

  3. First you said they went bot support, now you're saying they went top. For some reason, again, in my normals, I don't see either of those happening much, if at all.

  4. Double or nothing, if that even happens, someone figures out how to wreck shit with them and they surge in win rate and popularity before getting nerfed because of an overlooked, overpowered interaction.

  5. Things change, and you say adaptation doesn't matter. Amusing. Anyway, I am painfully aware of the issues in the jungle, as it's my preferred role, so you're kind of repeating what I already know.

  6. These changes were for the state of the game. Break the foundation to build a new house, as it were. In fact, the grand majority of changes are for the game's sake rather than the player's sake. Certainly, the changes have helped players, especially Marksman mains, to enjoy something new, but the main, initial focus was making Marksman's role less stale. Now they need to balance out things, and that always takes time.

They did listen to people, that's why there's way more damage, turrets are less durable and games are only going 20-25 minutes. People got very tired of every game being farm only until 60 minutes, have one team fight go wrong and boom, you lose. Moba's are shifting towards a shorter game format and riot is keeping up with the majority of people. Not a few disgruntled people.

I've been playing since 2011 and think it's shifted around plenty, granted I play all roles and nearly all champions. I keep interesting

ive not seen a single person complain about the length of the games, that there wouldnt be enough damage, and the only people who wanted marksmen buffed are marksmen mains in bronze to silver.

the largest issues ive seen on the boards were the mana problems of mages, people wanting a better build path for essence reaver instead of having it turned into broken bullsht, and the usual qq abaout the same 5 champions.

Yeah that's about 85% in correct if I had to guess. Even the professional league players said ADC was becoming a pointless role in the League of Tanks. And it wasnt just adcs saying it. LOTS of people hated how long the games were, and with the release of Heroes of the Storm, a lot of people stopped playing league to play the shorter games.

As for the same 5 champions, that's every time the meta changes, the bans are the same, the top picks are the same, it happens, but it rotates. As far as mana issues for mages goes, yes that does need to be addressed in some way. But that's not enough to cause a gripe fest.

if i wanted to play heroes of the storm, i would play heroes of the storm and not league. i dont care if other games have shorter matches, i preferred the longer, team oriented and less snowbally ones.

and honestly i dont give a fuck what the adc mains in the pro scene said. some pros have one opinion and enjoyed the game more, and some pros have another opinion. its not different than the rest of the player base. especially sicne there is money involved, and if your role has "just" has much impact as other roles, of course they might not like it. tank meta never existed. it was just a meta where adc werent the sole carries and the entire game wasnt focused on them, and tanks were simply a part of the game after being nonexistant for almost 2 entire seasons.

they were still strong, they were still effective. bruisers and melee adc were just able to carry games equally well as them if they did good. which is how the game should be.

this game right now, is trash. if i was abkle to get an actual money refund on my skins, i would just take it and leave. just gonna take a break and check back in 6 month if they fixed this garbage.

Well given your attitude, most of us would appreciate you leaving the community. Im guessing you fill all your games with toxicity and rage, blaming Riot for everything. You dont have to play the game THEY make that is FREE to play. You spent your own Money on something that had Zero affect on your actual gameplay, just pretty pictures.

i actually dont say anything in games.

and just because its free to play doesnt make them immune to critisizm. if it helps you, i bought skins. so i didnt just invest time but also money into the game. but i fail to see how thats relevant.

considering this board even exists, i think they expect us to voice our opinion. and my opinion is, that these last 2 patches have nothing but garbage and were the worst patch in years, including previous preseasons.

its not the imbalance of the game thats the problem, but their design direction theyre aimig at with them itself is shit.

Go make a better game, then. Again, the majority is happy. You can't have 100% appeasement.

Btw, more people are complaining about the state of the game than ever before. Most of the people who aren't complaining don't care either way. Casual gamers just want to mess around. They feel good when they get ahead and win, but most of the time they don't know why they got ahead, so they could care less about the state of the game as long as they still get their high moments. They don't even care how often they actually get those high moments. Everyone else sees a bunch of horrible decisions in game direction, and are ready to quit if the season start doesn't fix it, or if it takes one step further.

You didn't explain what they're doing at all.

You said the things Riot did that nobody actually wanted.

You talked about pros.

You called someone toxic for being legitimately upset with a company that is ignoring a good portion of its most loyal customers.

Actually, plenty of people agree with him. Riot's slowly been leaning towards the casual players who don't care how the game plays or how bad it gets as long as they get to play their favorite champions and get new skins. And Riot doesn't really care as long as people still buy skins and there's an E-sports scene.

That 'casual lean' is what's making the game focus around damage and mobility now. Even tanks have good damage! They don't have to survive long enough to sunfire and auto you down now, they can just straight up put a carry at 1/2 HP off the bat. Mostly because they can't survive long enough to just auto and sunfire someone down unless they're far ahead and the enemy's far behind, but that's another issue.

I'm not the only one that remembers when Riot actively balanced their game on a weekly basis, gave real responses, listened to feedback, played with players constantly.

Tanks were tanks, carries were carries, jungling was rich and varied with counter-jungling being a significant factor in a jungler's success, bruisers were the force top lane you tried to keep both sides balanced so one didn't wreck your entire team, and mid lanes controlled the pace of the fight through their aoe and utility threat alone. Everyone except assassins felt good, but when they actually got ahead, damn did they carry.

The game was actually fun for both teams the majority of the time back then, despite everything being hilariously broken almost on the level of Tahm Kench.

The worst part is people like you who just put their head in the air and scream 'TOXIC!!!' at anything that bothers them. Just because we have legitimate gripes that Riot ignores in favor of less dedicated players doesn't mean we're toxic.

Sorry but none wanted 20 minutes games And those who did are regreting it now

Majority of community like 75% wanted stronger turrets

Snowball got fixed this patch

However next patch might change that a bit ... we ll see
