So if tank base stats are going up and tank items are going down...

But some fighter items like Maw and Sunfire are being left along with fighter stats... wouldn't the tanks buy the fighter items and get damage and tanks stats?

I just get this feeling that riot is trying to treat a symptom instead of the source of the problem again and it will leave either tanks or fighters completely trashed.

thornmail, sunfire, and such items are nerfed(or basically removed for thornmail) they said they will no longer get a lot of damage from items

I assumed they meant that on tank kits, not items.

Sunfires is hardly a fighter item, although it's a more offensive focused tank item. Anyway, tanks are already abusing it.

Maw's a good concern - don't want Poppy to be doing way more damage than she should again... no one else will use it though, so there's that/

On the other hand, I believe we'll be seeing a lot more Abyssals, at least once their aren't 3-4 AD assassins on each game.

I think Poppy was intended to be more of a Diver than a Vanguard (Even though that's how the LCS uses her) So I doubt that Riot has any objection to her building offensive items.

Now the problem with Sunfire is, it was basically designed to help tanks who lacked waveclear, waveclear. And where this becomes an issue however, is that anyone who is building tanky, can build sunfire, and not give up wave management for building tanky. (Which is what invited these Bruiser Fizz and Ekko builds)

Really, to give tanks the needed waveclear, they should be more focused on their own abilities, and buff the tank items (namely Frozen Heart) that help them with those abilities. (Does anyone remember when Maokai would build RoA?)

Really, the only fighter Item I see tanks potentially abusing is Titanic. Except most tanks won't have the attackspeed to use it to full effect.

Hmm... so will Poppy get base stat boosts?

I don't really see how Poppy is a diver though, yes her diving is godly, but her engage is shit and is way too low range to reliably reach the back line with.

E+R+Q is godly diving though, especially with AD.

Only two-three tanks have the AD scalings to really use fighter items given how ability based they are, four if you include Shen's penchant for on hit items.
