@Meddler could we see some Yi Buffs soon?

FYI Yi Ult at ALL levels is on a 85 second cooldown.

BUT at rank 1 it gives 30% attack speed..... Im not a pro balancer but I dont think a minute long CD is worth what is effectively a item 1043 Also maybe re-tune the MoveSpeed bonus from his ult to be flat as opposed to % based(since it tends to not have that much impact until lategame)?

Seeing as how Fervor and item 3142, two of his main damage sources are getting retooled and wont be as effective on him If there was ever a time to show everyones favorite 7-eyed swordsman some love it would be now.

Yeah, totally ignoring that it makes you immune to any slows (of any kind. Movement speed. Attack speed.) even summoner 3. Definitely not ult worthy. Even though he's in a fine spot at the moment. Pretty much 50% win rate.

Lets not also forget about WuJu Style >->

Actually he is sitting at a 46% winrrate according to OP.GG

First Yi had that Rageblade on-hit abusing build which got nerfed massively. Then Tank,Bruiser Yi became a thing until he was once again nerfed thus forcing a more Bonus AD focused build. Now some of his core items are getting changed which was already bad enough seeing as how alot of the community are split between Bork/Devourer/Yommu build and the IE/PD/ER crit build.

Yi's winrrate doesnt determine the state of Yi so much as it determines the state of Yi's items. Dont forget that Master Yi is a Ball of stats champion that basically cant play from behind as he brings nothing to his team comp but damage in spades so until he eventually gets an update solving this problem he needs to be balanced around the state of his items/masteries until then.

I think the cooldown of his ult for the power and impact that it gives compared to other Slayers and carries is a bit inflated and could be adjusted a bit.

I look at champion.gg. It looks like op.gg looks at just the Korea region. Yes, most assassins can't really do much from behind. It's the risk vs reward playstyle that doesn't necessarily need to change. If he's ahead, he will end the game and feel like you can't do much if you're not good at stun locking or rooting him until dead.

We are currently going through an assassin update, and it's telling that Master Yi got no changes. He probably is fine. Akali even got some minor changes and they admit she needs a ton more.

All of this aside, that still doesn't mean that Master Yi's ult isn't 'ult worthy'. It does a lot.

Arguably though Yi wasnt effected in the assassin update because he isnt a true "assassin" by Riots standards. He is a high damage melee carry or "Slayer" ala Gangplank Fiora Yasuo TryndamereRiven who benifits from going all-out offensive and tearing through everything. You cant really compare him to actual assassins like Akali as thier survivability tools are often alot stronger and they serve different funtions.

Also there is a difference between Risk vs Reward playstyles and Feast vs Famine playstyles which Yi's kit leans towards.

After Fervor I don't think Yi will be 50% win rate

We'll see. Don't forget his Q is 100% ad ratio so his Q's will do more damage. His Wuju style gives free AD. His true damage has AD scaling (it works out to be like.. 17 more true damage at max stacks lvl 18 Ferver). he doesn't need 5 kills to get 5% bonus damage (he just needs to be in combat for 5 seconds). Double Edge Sword gives 2% more max damage. There is a On Hit passive cooldown against champions (minor but will help early which he needs to snowball appropriately). There is a new 3% current HP on hit drain from going into a bush. Plus I think extra AD helps sooner than Extra on hit damage for Yi until you get a few early items. Which might help him snowball easier and faster.

That all being said. It was a comment on the OP saying "1 minute cooldown isn't worth 2 daggers". His ult is FAR more than just 2 daggers of AS. Immunity to slow. You can't be slowed in either attackspeed OR movement speed. Plus immunity to exhaust is big. It was NOT a comment on his win rate.

Yi's Q is actually balanced around its ability to Crit. Problem is Yi's most effective builds often dont actually involve crit . so basically they end up doing 500 damage which gets mitigated down to like 200 because Yi has no room for armor pen over AS.

17 more true damage doesnt offset the extra 114 damage per auto from LIVE Fervor (especially considering Yi's doublestrike passive)

the 3% Hp drain brush thing is way to conditional and really is a moot point. Yi gameplay doesnt really revolve around brush unlike Iver,Rengar or Kha'Zix.

Being in combat for 5 seconds in this game is actually ALOT harder than it sounds as the average lifespan for a glasscannon squishy who confronts the enemy team is about 3-4 seconds AT MOST.

Also you can still have your attack speed slowed during highlander. The immunity is to movmespeed only. Wardens,Exhaust and FrozenHeart still shut down Yi pretty hard.

The thing is. Extra AD is basically on hit as well (except the 50% on double strike). So it's not an offset of that. Ferver (including wuju bonus AD, and true damage) is about 82.5 extra damage on hit.

From wikipedia, it most certainly does extend to attack speed slows.

Highlander's slow immunity extends to fear, pacify, and attack speed slows (but not Charm or Frost unless detonated by Permafrost)

While yes it is conditional, you sohuld get at least 1 proc on it, plus it has a 9 second cooldown anyway, you get 1 for free. Regardless of whethre or not your gampleay was bush dependent. Plus idk of anytime I've never gone into a bush towards a gank when jungling so you should always have it to start a gank, so it should count. In 1 gank, even Rengar shouldn't get more than 1 proc thanks to a 9 second cooldown. Especially if you say staying in combat for 5 seconds is harder than it sounds.

Yi's Q is actually balanced around its ability to Crit.

This would mean Ferver damage could crit because it's AD based and not On Hit based. I was checking champion.gg, and that seems to have some crit, or with ferver changes, Yi might do more crit.

Actually his R gives 30% attack speed, but same thing basically. Also, PLEASE do not change the movement speed boost. Yi's R is the only movement speed boost to multiply movement speed, meaning the % increase also affects bonus movement speed.

La Bello1 votes

but in most cases its not even that effective due to how Movement speed bonuses work and scale with eachother and tends to try to hardcap itself. Its fun if you build a team around Highlanders bonus MS likeZilean Lulu Kayle but in most cases he would most likely be better off with a high Flat MS bonus (which would end up getting multiplied anyway by Items likeitem 3046 item 3142 ) so he would be less dependent on such a niche situation or teamcomp.

Although If Riot REALLY wanted to do something spicy they could make it something crazy like a sudden burst of 200% MS decaying overtime like Jinx's "get excited". That would make it alot easier for Yi to perform his role and dart past the frontline to the backline and speed off once he slayed his target.

His winrate is sure to plummet with youmuu's change. Yi buffs?

He is either useless or is the most frustrating piece of shit you'll ever have the luck of being """""""outplayed"""""""" by. If i could choose i'd never pla with or against him again
