Are there players who just mute chat at the start of games?

I'm curious since I think I just might mute all. Whatever benefits there are to communicating I feel are starting to not be worth it. Leaving chat open is just starting to feel too tilt inducing and mind numbing. I don't have the luxury of venting out loud unfortunately and venting in game is "toxic" so I think this might be the best option. I have done it before to see how my experience changes and it basically feels like I'm in a bot game. It so much less stressful when you think players are bots because chance/AI is the main factor if bots will feed or not instead of me questioning the intelligence of players.

i used to do that alot, just mute everyone at the start of the game and boom no tilt because you dont have to read shitty comments the whole game if you end up with a rage lord

In my experience chat has almost 99% useless comments. Anything important can be communicated through pings. Though it is useful to tell your jungler that a pinged location is warded.

So, yes, muting chat - almost no disadvantage.

I do this too, though I still use chat to communicate information to my team (e.g. Darius f 9:20, dragon 1 min, river is warded). I also mute everyone on the enemy team, since there's absolutely no reason I need to hear what they're saying.

I always keep /all chat off, as L Psy pointed out, there's no reason to need to know what they're saying to you.

I only mute my team members if they're being stupid. Actually, I only mute my team mates if they're saying things unrelated to winning, even if it's logical.

Distraction is distraction, and I generally only will type from under a turret or from the Nexus, because almost always, not moving is a waste of valuable seconds...

Goes back to when I was a really new player, and I remember a video I watched saying that you should ALWAYS be doing something; be it CS, or noting enemy locations on the map, wards etc etc.

Not moving because typing detracts from this, on top of the clowns who tilt other players.
