I am Sick of the State of the Meta, and I know how to fix it.
Runes offer more damage and less defense than prior to Season 8.
Items offer less defense compared to before, such as ninja tabi not having 30 armor like it used to, cinderhulk offering very little health for starting at 300 hp, Thornmail offering 250 hp, etc.
These are small examples. Go and build them and still die immediately upon entering a fight. I have more success building glass cannon than anything else and I have to join this popcorn clown fiesta and watch people's hp pop.
I hate the damage burst meta. It inhibits so much. If our team is behind and I need to split push to get our first tower, I run the risk of being 1 shot by the snowballing enemy before I get the tower down by even 1/3. Going for objectives on the losing team feels like Intentional feeding if they are capable of 1-shotting me.
When behind, I feel useless. Season 6 and prior (I quit in mid S6 and came back in S8) being behind meant to group up and not duel those ahead. Tanks, CC and peel could help against snowballers. NOW? LOL... you gotta instakill the fed enemy. Its what you do.
This game is like microwave popcorn now and is no longer even similar to the game it used to be with spells and stuff. It feels too alien.
I don't like the emphasis on damage.
It can be fixed either through a runes and mastery revert of sorts, or....
It can be fixed by reorganising and rewriting rune categories. Force offensive rune picks, defensive rune picks, and our option, like mini runes. Totally rewrite and reorganize runes. For instance, dark harvest karthus who picks bone plating and transcendence, or riven who does conqueror, conditioning and free boots.
Reorganize it all and rather than force us to be in 2 these such as resolve and inspiration, make us choose from an offense row, utility row, defense row, mobility row and our choice for a 5th. This concept is very strong balance wise.
Rewrite it all and organize it.
Also, turn mini runes into mega runes with bigger values, and organize those in similar categories.
