How is Master Yi considered fair?

For real. If the game gets to 30 minutes, you should just forfeit. Insane damage, busted lifesteal, high mobility, and great potential for both split pushing and teamfighting. Not to mention the fact that his early game is actually not weak enough to compensate for this. I understand that there are ways to counter him. (Hard CC and...actually just hard CC.) Unfortunately, players in Silver/Gold elo don't seem to understand this, and I prefer to play carry champions, most of which don't have hard CC. I probably sound like just another loser who got clapped by a fed Yi last game, but I actually really want to know, aside from hard CC, how do you even counter this champion?

i got mastery 7 yi by 29k points lol, took 6 games from when i hit mastery 5, i went 30/3 in back to back games, now this was last season prolly around august of somthing, in gold elo, he is very broken, rev hunter heals off his true damage, his true damage is way to high, his q allows you to block any spell, grab a qqs and cc is a joke, he does need nerfs but since he isnt played that much and not at all in pro play he wont get nerfed, also his build is dirt cheap for the damage output

Yi brings less to the team than most other characters and has big problems getting going too. You can itemize against him, focus him, get higher value from your kit than he gets from his, you can out damage him, you can out sustain him, cc is a thing, positioning and peel can prevent him from contributing too much, out duel him if he tries to split, you can bully him during power spikes when you are stronger, starve him from gold and kill his carries.

The real problem is that nobody knows how to deal with split pushing. Everyone intuitively understands that CCing Yi really hurts him, and this minimizes the damage he can cause in teamfights.

If he just splitpushes incessantly, however? Get ready for a constant thorn in your side. Doesn't help that splitting is the best way to carry right now since damage is completely out of control even with only modest damage items built, which really discourages traditional carrying via combat.

Yi is incredibly team reliant, requires 3 core items before he really takes off and he is terrible at initiating fights. Not to mention that his ganks are lackluster at best.

Yes, he is very frustrating to deal with, especially once he gets rageblade. But if his team is behind, there is little to nothing he can do other than farm and splitpush. He does absolutely nothing for his team other than deal damage...that's it.

A bad Yi will try to force team fights, get himself killed over and over and end with a score of 4/13/2. A good Yi, however, will bide his time and wait for the opportunity to strike. He will play it safe, will be behind in CS all game in some cases, but he knows that once the the enemy has blown all their cooldowns in a team fight...there is nothing left to do but activate Highlander and get a Penta.

Such is the power of Yi.

Or maybe play better or use better champions. CC is king, Lulu is Queen.

I'll go ahead and say it. With how conqueror currently works... Master Yi is broken. Conqueror gives more true damage on top of the true damage Yi already gets, and on top of that it gives him more AD and absurd amounts of healing.

Honestly if current iteration of Conqueror is to remain, I think Yi needs True Damage from his E removed, and changed to bonus magic damage (scaling with AD, like Irelia's passive) and remove attack speed boost from Yi's ultimate, giving a slight increase to movement speed. This at least makes him fair without hard gutting his entire identity.

As insane is Yi's Q is (cooldown reducing with his basic attacks) it's not unreasonable. The stacking true damage and Conqueror is what makes him too much to handle.

Ban MasterYi or pick him away from the other team if you are 1st pick. Until you get out of silver / gold, if that's your problem area. Just an idea.
