aren't the only champions who can right click you a few times and say "wait, you built armor/magic resist? Well, that's cool and all, but honestly, fuck it, you're dead anyway." This is the reason that tanks are barely played any more.

Yi doesnt do true damage in his kit, hes incredibly easy to beat around. Vayne though, its nuts that true damage is in her kit, that I agree with.
Damage is a problem although I'm not convinced true damage is the problem. Everyone talks about yi or vayne or fiora or darius but I feel that is due to other elements of their kit. As far as true damage specifically goes, Olaf outpaces all of them in average true damage dealt a game. As long as people are okay with Olaf, I find it hard to complain about anyone else's true damage which is always lower than olaf's.
Tanks have been viable in the past when Tank Shredder champions exist.
That's not an excuse for their viability.
People don't want a Tank Meta.
Vayne's true damage is core to her kit. People have whined about her since the beginning of time but that's not gonna change. She's a single target champion that relies on true damage to bust tanks. If you want to argue she does too much damage in general then fine but true damage is not the problem.
