Can we stop pretending new items are the problem but outlier abusers arent?

For example:

How come Vi can hit as hard as a fed Vayne and being ridiculous tanky while having both burst and sustained damage?

Her Q is ridiculous, a low cd mobility spell cant be as bursty as it is. It cant have burst, moblity AND CC. She cant have the playstyle and kit of an assassin while being a goddamn bruiser.

Sated Devourer isnt OP. Its balanced on those that it was designed for.

Its abusers that dont get nerfed/reworked because they are Devs' waifus that are the problem. Like Vi or Fizz. Riot will never be able to implement good ideas as long as abusers are given special treatment.

Everytime they include a new item like Ludens or Sated Devourer, some high mobility assassin/assassin-like comes and abuses the fuck out the item causing it to get nerfed.

AP assassins got DFG removed and it affected Morde/Veigar. Katarina got Luden's nerfed. Because fuck every other AP mid. Lee Sin got Warrior nerfed. Because fuck every other jungler. Vi and Fizz will get Sated Devourer nerfed. Because fuck those that need it.

You know why? Because their designs are a mess. They are champions with extremely strong kits, designed and balanced on a single player mentality of ''What tools can I give this champion to overcome X situation'', instead of the questions that lead to balanced designs with clear strenghts and weaknesses:

  • ''What situations this champion can/should overcome?''
  • ''What is the risk/reward ratio of this champion?''
  • ''How does this champion fares against other champions? How it should?''

Also, you can integrate new/fun personal mechanics without the champion being broken AF (looking at you @CertainlyT ). You can make good champions without needing to create fake/niche weaknesses like Riven or Fizz (Looking at you @Xyphereous ).

But more important: You can create interesant, fresh, cool champions while keeping them healthy and balanced, within the self-imposed rules you have made yet constantly trespass. Most of those ''abusers'' are breaking your ''good design'' rules.

Unless you are willingly to actually balance kits of those abusers, you will never be able to introduce fun or cool items. Because at some point one of those hypermobile toxic messes will find a way to abuse the new item.

List of constant abusers: Fizz Katarina Leblanc LeeSin Nidalee Riven Vi

AP assassins got DFG removed and it affected Morde/Veigar.

Veigar was actually one of the reasons they wanted to remove DFG. As for Mord, he's been sitting in the shit bin for a while, waiting for some changes to make him better at his role.

Katarina got Luden's nerfed. Because fuck every other AP mid.

Because literally every DoT/multi-hit mage couldn't be blamed for abusing it, right? It's not like Cassiopeia, Brand, Swain and Malzahar weren't also problematic with Luden's, right?

Lee Sin got Warrior nerfed. Because fuck every other jungler.

It lost 5 AD. And you really think that was exclusively because of Lee Sin.

Vi and Fizz will get Sated Devourer nerfed. Because fuck those that need it.

Fizz? FIZZ?!?

His on-hit effect is one of the only ones that benefits from not having a high AS.

AD fizz I think is what he is talking about with item 3931 item 3153 item 3078 item 3143 item 3065 item 3111 is really scary. Those two procs of bork can be a problem but really it is a dumb argument because that build was strong before sated and I dont feel like it is any more out of control because it still blows people um in the same amount of time.

Cinderhulk and Runeglaive are such examples of this.

Instead of limiting Smite to one player per team, they nerf the items.
