@20thCenturyFaux Zilean's new passive doesnt really solve anything.

And if broken enough, it opens the doors to make Zilean unbalanceable around such mechanic, which leads to nerfs.

Why? Because Zilean is being shoehorned as a support, so he will be one of the last in his team to reach max level due to duo lane + roaming.

So in the end, the passive is still useless at max level. One thing is an early game passive falling off lategame, another very different is a passive 100% dissapearing lategame. Also, again, those changes disregard Zilean's midlane role too.

Didnt Riot not learn that passive experience bonus arent balanced? Morde is extremely binary and toxic.

So depending on the gain rate of the passive and its range (could be even used to level up your jungler while midlaning?), this new passive could either end up extremely strong or completly underwhelming. Either way, passive exp bonuses are unfair to the enemy team.

TL;DR: I think a passive that has to do with the rest of his kit instead of making Zilean a rare candy machine could be way healthier.

experiance passive are always shit, that's all

i expected a passive 100% better, why does zilean have to ALWAYS have an experiance passive? they can give him his W , or give a reduced cooldown on allies for their next spell ect...

It does solve something with Zilean. It solves the issue of invisble power. Nobody notices Zil's passive, but now you will

tbh we really don't know how much XP it gives. If his new passive stores enough XP to keep a Support Zilean on the same level or ahead of his team in XP, then it will be so fucking broken. If not, then he will still be able to play as a Midlaner and give XP to his Jungler easily, and the rest of his team once they start grouping.

Wasn't there chatter a few months/years ago about making Zilean's W his passive?

"If his passive is up, Zilean can use his non-ultimate abilities while they're on cooldown. Doing so puts his passive on the spell's remaining cooldown."

That adds space in his kit for some kind of damage/utility in the W slot.

I don't know what your two poll options mean. Is there one for "both/all experience-based passives are awful"?

hasn't Zilean pretty much always been meant as a support? I mean, it IS is primary role. -.- Speed up teammates, ranged time bomb for harass that can also do a powerful stun, and an ult that can save any ally for a little bit like a item 3026 . So he isn't being "shoehorned" into the support role.
