PICKING CHAMPIONS FOR A RANKED DUO

Me and a pal are gonna stay off ranked for a few months, expand our champion pools, and go hit gold. We play fine with our gold+ friends mechanically, but he has Bronze decision making, and I have Silver awareness so that's where we've been stuck. Way I see it, the game is going to be a clown fiesta for a few months after new runes hit, so we're planning to buckle down during that time and expand our champion pools slightly with some characters to compliment each other's play styles. I'm looking to get feedback on our choices for new champs

##MY CHAMPIONS## Orianna Vladimir I main Orianna and Vladimir, mostly playing top and mid. I have a defensive/supporting playstyle well suited to team fights, and I like to go in with the front line, follow up engages, and look for picks on carries. I tend to pick champions that have utility or strong team fight potential coupled with the damage to take out priority targets.

Gangplank Galio I was considering picking up Gangplank and Galio to better fill out my champion pool in terms of being a good team fighter/ followup, as well as having an ad or tanky option for mid when Orianna isn't an option.

##HIS CHAMPIONS## Sejuani Volibear He mains Volibear and Sejuani, and plays mostly top and jungle. He used to main Nauitlus over Sej, but he got dumpstered in the tank update. He has an all in playstyle where he likes to start fights and jump on carries, with the assumption that someone is coming with him to back him up. (usually me) As a result he plays tanky damage dealers, often with strong engage tools.

##NEW CHAMP IDEAS## Trundle Gnar He's looking at trundle and gnar to fill out his top lane options as beefy champions who can both start fights and knock around anyone who gets too fed. Later in the game their cc and gianty beefy bodies are expected to transition well into team fighting beasts that I can back up or follow up.

Don't play Gnar.

Not because he's bad, but because people who play Gnar are just generally bad people. Like Yasuo pickers.
