I'd love to see more Champions who are deadlier when almost dead

Tryndamere, Olaf, Aatrox, etc., get more power as they take damage, which I love in terms of risk-reward. I'd love to see more of such mechanics in the future, but I'd like to know if Riot thinks adding more Champions with such a power style might seem "overdone".

Do the Champions who already do this fill the niche? Or is there room for more?

I'd like to throw in my own concept to illustrate a Champion who could take this to an extreme:

Nephree, the Dark Crusader http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/s6Yz68uW-nephree-the-dark-crusader

Darius Not exactly deadlier, but the 1k hp heal when near death is pretty ludicrous.

Agreed. It needs to be nerfed HARD. I don't care if it'll take 3 Champion hits to make it work, a 1k burst heal is just WRONG.

3?

He only needs one at full build. 20% hp heal of 4k hp = 800hp

5.18 is nerfing his heal per Champion hit, but increasing the max number of enemy Champions hit for the heal to 3. And on live, his missing health heal right now is 15%, not 20%.

Spirit visage + extra healing when low gives roughly 20% hp for one champion hit(on live).

Ahh.

which is why it's 12% missing hp, so if he has 4K hp, in a perfect situation, he'd get 480 from one blade hit.

I'd love to see a champ that transforms after they die instead of being voluntary, then has a double the normal amount death timer on actual death.

To answer your question at the end though, I'm on the fence. I think the only champ that fills the niche is Olaf, and I don't really think anyone else does it as well currently, but that's just my opinion.

Tryndamere? He still gets bonus AD when low on health.

I don't really feel trynd does it as well, and I'll try to explain why.

With Trynd, it just feels like he shouldn't have that when he is low, given his ult, because it makes that time a bit ridiculous and you pretty much have to run away or just die in most cases. It's thematic I guess, but I don't feel it properly represents the mechanic as much as taking advantage of it.

With Olaf it 100% makes sense as he is a bit of a berserker, and he will not stop at anything, so he gets hurt, he gets mad, and you pop his ult and he just rages and runs at you, swinging faster the more he is hurt....but he is either going to get away with very low health, or die after nearly taking the enemy with him.

It makes perfect sense to me with Olaf, where Trynd just feels like it is shoehorned in to synergize with his ult in a frustrating way for the enemy.

Fair enough.

It seems tricky to apply. But in the right circumstances with the right kit, I would love to see another (also I think Zac deserves an honorable mention as he heals for more with his blobs the lower hp he is)

darkdill1 votes

Sorta. It's more that he pays less and less for his abilities the lower on health he gets, not that he heals more.

I think Karma's old passive would work really well with her current abilities.

Her current passive really feels like it should just be part of her R

EDIT: Nevermind, confused who you were talking about.

This has crossed my mind before and I would love if this happened. Though it probably won't.

What I would like to see is something that will never ever happen, due to how hard to balance it would be; I would love to see a tank that started out not so tanky, but the lower their hp became the more armor/mr they received from a passive. So they would be more likely to gank lower health, not be afraid to stand and fight, etc.

I think that would be a neat idea, that as I said, likely would be hard to balance and never happen.

I think there is someone like that in DotA or something, and my friends who actually played the game told me that he could build some sustain, and just straight out not die after he drops to a certain HP. So, yea....

Poppy actually functions similar to that. And riot has said it is broken which is why she is getting reworked

From what I heard, that aspect of her kit and slamming people into walls were in the plans of her new kit.

Huskar is pure terror. I don't mind the attackspeed, nor that he takes half your health immediately (which buffs him even more), but the 98% magic resistance instills terror into my heart. If you thought Poppy's Passive was bad, try playing a mage against a fed Huskar. You simply scream and run.
