Conqueror seems really popular, and crits now deal true damage, how come no one asked this:

Why is item 3143 Even existing right now?

Crits being physical damage only was the sole reason this Item was even useable because it would reduce crits by a great deal, but sucks to suck Times 2 because now crits alone, and then more often than not paired with Conqueror, make this item remarkably useless because true damage on crits is the one weakness this Item has, and now that weakness is a common thing and on some champions even meta.

I sincerely Hope Riot has some plans to make Randuins anyhow useful again because as of this moment Randuins is maybe as useful as fucking Ohmwrecker.

Randuin's applies the crit reduction before the true damage conversion. So your attack if it would crit, first it will only deal 180% damage (as opposed to 200%), then 15% of that damage gets converted to true damage.

same for ninja tabi.

i still dislike conqueror and infinity edge, and wish they would have instead a more conventional damage amp.

like they could have done something akin the old fervor of battle and put a stacking ad bonus on infinity edge that triggers on critical strikes. conqueror could have simply had bonus armor penetration instead of the true damage conversion.

the reason why meddler didnt go with armor pen was literally "true damage is easier to understand for the user". like what the actual shit. how stupid do they think we are? and if people are actually that stupid, should we base the games balance around this?

No.

The reason given was that a True Damage conversion effects squishy champions less than it does tanky targets. Armor Pen on the other hand will much more effect squishy champions who can't build much armor than it does tanky targets who can stack it.

bonus armor penetration wont affect squishies more than armor stacking tanky targets.

and meddler came literally out and said the reason is, true damage is easier to understand and appreciate than % damage increases or armor pen.

im not making this shit up. i dont know anymore if it was a dev blog post or in somebody elses thread on the boards, but that was his reasoning.

It's useful until they buy IE, and useless if you're facing a "melee right click" because they all pick Conqueror

So basically latest after the 15 minute mark you can sell this item and replace it with item 3193 because at least crit doesnt scale with max hp. With IE giving double crit as well as converting part of the crits into true damage, buying any of the 4 attack speed crit items then IE means within 10-15 minutes, if you get ahead, you have 60% crit chance and 15% of all your crits are true damage, 35% if you have conqueror.

Basically Randuins has become an Item you have to rush first in any build, and yet it's specifically designed to be an item you buy during the spike of midgame, as the 3d or 4th item.
