RIP Aegis and Locket?
I'm going to be honest about the changes done to Aegis and Locket, it got nerfed way to hard for what problem it had. Removal of the MR Aura was a perfectly viable and understandable thing to do.... but things didn't stop there. Remove the aura to buff the item's base MR stats? Great, that's fine to do. Want to add a little armor into the mix? Awesome, that's a nice thing to do. And then someone decided to remove Health from the items.....
There are reasons why Healthless tank items are not bought over mixed HP + resistance items.... it's because even with all of those resistances you have no HP to back it up and still get your HP bar removed in the same amount of time if you didn't buy the pure resistance items. Sure items like Dead Man's Plate, Omen, Spirit Visage, and Banshee's Veil are bought for their passives/actives, but one of the big things that tanks (and other champions that want a little bulk) like about them is that they give BOTH HP and some resistance. Pure HP items (like Warmong's) tend to not be something players straight buy because they have no other stats to go with it to support it (like how Mallet has AD). Pure Resistance items (like the new Locket and Thornmail) tend to not get bought because they have no HP bulk to go with the stats.
Tanks tend to gravitate toward items that give a little of both so they can be the frontline their team needs, they can't do that with a single stat buff. If you give a tank pure HP, they will still be squishy because they have no resistances to mitigate the damage they take, if you give a tank pure resistances then they have no HP to survive the barrages with. HP and Resistance goes hand-in-hand for tank champions. Even adding just 200 HP to Locket would make it so much more appealing to players. As is will be the death of the item because the active isn't enough to keep it alive, let alone viable.
These are my thoughts and feelings on the changes to it.
