Is there a single person who takes hextech flashtrap?
Honest question, ive never once seen it, i tried it the other day and was amazed at how truly useless it is.

Ive seen it work well on engage supports, for example an alistar hexflashing out of the bush knocking you up and headbutting you toward his team.
I occasionally use it when im playing thresh or blitz, or any supp that excells at picking off a target suddenly. It works at all times since, as you said, people dont respect it. No one expect a blitz to flash over a wall to hook the enemy syndra when the blitz flashed 50 seconds ago to hook, yet again, syndra

Sometimes
Basically only Alistar and maybe a very handful of others use it like a baby, while the rest won't touch it with a 50 foot pole.
I see it on engage supports
most commonly
ive also seen it on

very rarely but honorable mention
You can use it to blink between two bushes without revealing yourself between them, and it's also good for surprise engages (like Fid does with his ult). I've also heard that Blitzcrank's channeling animation looks just like the beginning of his Q animation, so you can fool enemies into juking your Q when it's really just Hexflash, and then they have no dash/flash ready for your actual Q that you follow up with moments later.
I've seen it used as a mobility tool, not much of an escape though. Think jungler ganking over the wall with a JG that doesn't normally have those tools and such.
I use it on
to get free procs of her W passive pretty much whenever I want.
