but mathematically speaking, what are the odds of getting 3 of the same champion shard.

Also the chance is likely very high since the roll is not independent.
the odds are high. they specifically increased the odds you would get doubles of stuff. ive got doubles and tripples multiple times.

I don't think you can use traditional chance formula on these boxes. Hell even ARAM doesn't really use randomization normally. You can end up with 
x3 times in a row in aram for example and that wouldn't be that weird in league even if you have all the champions.
They just really want you yo play Udyr obvs.

I have got a couple doubles so far. I mostly only get low BE champs but at level 40 you get a special thing with better drops. Its called a glorious champion capsul
Isnt Udyr expensive?
