Riot needs to work more with Supports having their "golden period"
Take a look at the current Sona. She's weak early on, but if she reaches late-game she can provide even more healing than a Soraka, while also spamming plenty of damage, speed, debuffs, etc. I like that design direction in that she's the "hypercarry-Support", and that picking her competitively should have that in mind.
That said, I can only think of Taric having a similar "golden period", in that he's very strong in late-game, but pays a bit for that early-on. Meanwhile, supports like Soraka tend to be really good early, but fall off later.
Can we have more of this dynamic?
