How do you find just one champion to play?
I keep getting bored and hopping around. I get champions to mastery 7 and then switch. I'd like to find just one champion to love but I love so many!

Find the one that's most visually appealing to you.
Like, the one that gives you a hard on everytime you see it.
The one that really just makes you feel like jacking it when you see it.
That's when you know you've found your one trick.

Hey.
I'm not one to judge.
But if you get a hard on for little kids riding on big burly yetis and scarecrows.

There's 3 ways to decide this:
- Pick the champ with the best boobs and/or booty and play her.

I can't tell you how many times I've been harassed about maining Sona.
Honestly didn't pick her for her figure, but each shall believe what they want I suppose..
She does look very nice though owo
The new bilgewater swain is half the reason I play him

There's 3 ways to decide this:
- Pick the champ with a kit that most matches your play style.
- Pick whichever champ is meta and main that one because you want to get to master tier.

Or pick braum, He's wayyyyyy more daddy than taric

To be honest, you either are a one trick or you're not.
Becoming a one trick is hard because you would be forcing yourself to play one champ all the time.
I for myself am I one trick in pretty much any game.
In league I one tricked 3 champs over 6 years of playing In For Honor I'm only playing 1 guy (Law-bro) In Total War Warhammer I'm only playing Chaos In DOW3 I'm only playing Orcs In Battlerite I'm only playing Thorn In Vermintide 2 I'm only playing Slayer In fighting games I'm only playing a single char
and so on.
You either are a one trick or you're not. Don't force yourself to become one, it should happen naturally.
In DOW3 I'm only playing Orcs
Wow DOW3 hasn't died yet?
Amazing.

meh around 250 players online at the same time (I don't play it that much anymore either). I guess it's pretty dead but still breathing somehow.
Just like me. Heh. Heh.
Just like me. Heh. Heh.
I disagree to an extent... I forced myself to 1 trick a champion because I knew it was the best way to climb. After some time it was no longer force , but a desire to play him every game...
I personally try to get good at at least one champ per role, I much prefer being able to flex than get wrecked if I'm out of my comfort zone. It does mean a slower overall progress curve for me though. I choose two champs per role which I find appealing, and one of them I try to master , keeping the other as backup.
You don't have to play 1 champ? You can play whatever the fuck you want as long as you are having fun, don't forget that league is a video game after all
It's sort've difficult because the champion you really gel with on a gameplay level is largely up to taste.
My duo partner has been playing Talon Mid as a near-onetrick for years. If he's not playing Talon, he's playing Support.
Meanwhile, I've been around since beta in some form or another, and I still have a group of 5 or so characters that I alternate between, and even then I'm just playing them a little more consistently than the rest of the roster.
Pyke is the first champion I've ever felt like I could onetrick happily, and he only came out recently.
Finding a champion you can onetrick isn't really a science, you just have to guess and hope.
I tried that. Top: Teemo Tryn Akali Mid: Vik Talon Jg: Yi Eve Tryn Adc: Jhin Support: Thresh Blitz Pyke Brand Thresh Brand Akali i dont have 7 yet but to be fair its hard to get lvl 7 on brand and when i play thresh i go too hard sometimes

Why in the name of god are you playing 5 roles? You have Tyrnd in 2 roles. Queue for those. Only play Trynd and then find a champ for when he's banned (ideally that can also play those roles) like Diana, J4, or Quinn.
You should know a single support for fills. I would highly recommend Sona since you don't need to be that talented if you just understand Not Dying>Everything
I am really good at support. Like legit plat tier. I duo with my plat/gold friends in flex and clash and they say im better than most even without coms. I just get bored and frustrated playing support all the time. My thresh brand and blitz are very good but brand is really the only one i can carry with when my adc is bad. (in silver 75% of adcs are really bad) I am also a very good viktor and i learned how to play talon for when vik is banned or counter is picked. Top i auto filled so i play teemo or tryn because theyre simple and akali because shes broken against certain tops. Jg is easy for me i play brainlesss champs also auto fill role. Jhin i learned to play from me 1000+ ARAM games so im pretty good with him once out of laning phase, but if possible i do not adc i hate it

If you're plat and also great in 4 out of 5 roles - then why be a one-trick?
Plat good in 1 out of 5 roles. Support. My Viktor is pretty good. I am thinking about one-tricking him in ranked. Like i said though it is very hard to carry games from support role if adc is real bad.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't use Support Viktor in Ranked.
Viktor mid ofc......
loved
but now she sucks ass so bad that i cant play her
most other champs feel stronger/more rewarding and so on
her update didnt solve her issues at all xd so great job rick
passive is just useless af
I used to play many support chamions for the whole previous season, but
proved to be the most effective (highest w/r) one. So I picked him for this season to master and climb.
are we talking about champions or dating partners
good on you man for getting champs to a high mastery and then switching. i do the same really. i get more satisfaction out of leveling up a new champs mastery than i do trying to get a S+ rank game after game. super annoying. especially when you actually do really well like 15/3/11 with 212 cs and still only get an A. this is fun...
You have to play a champ that no one plays so that no one knows how that champion works. I played warwick during the feral flare season. (remember warwick didn't become hugely op until riot introduced bloodrazor with the true dmg on-hit smite. When which, I heard warwick became a perma-ban. I wasn't playing league during that time, so I was very sad to see the huge nerfs that warwick had received while I was gone).
No one literally knew how to counter warwick. At the lowest of the lowest elo, people did not know warwick could solo dragon at a low level and give free global gold and never bothered to ward dragon. At the lowest elo, they didn't even know how to interrupt warwick's channeled ultimate so their carries ended up dying most of the times. At that same elo, the adc will get QSS, trying to counter my ult perhaps; then I just go ahead and ult the mage instead; the mage uses zhonyas, still dies anyways; bottom line, you're supposed to counter warwick's ultimate by interrupting it, not through an item. At the less lower elo, people did not know that if 90% of the champs in the game do an extended duel with warwick 20 minutes into the game, it will get them killed; they also thought that warwick deals physical dmg and tries to build armor or ninja tabi to counter warwick without realizing the bulk of the dmg comes from warwick's passive and wit's end's on-hit and not just warwick's base attack dmg and still get shredded to death; it was the tons of mixed dmg that made warwick so hard to build against. At the lesser lower elo, they did not know that warwick's w gives attack speed buff to the entire team that if they try to split push, we'll kill all their team mates and bulldoze through all the towers and end the game so easily. At the lesser lower elo, they will try to juke your team while they are low in health like they do in all other games; never worked and they learned how annoying warwick's E was. I got to plat 3, as I remember playing warwick. Had 60%+ win rate. [and here's what I don't like about the current meta. Back in the day, there was no champ with better synergy with wit's end than warwick. That item was literally made for warwick. Now, who in the world build wit's end? The modern warwick builds titanic hydra. Other ap mages will build ap items or nasher's tooth than flat on-hit mr shred item like wit's end. There is no other champ in the game that has non-scaling on-hit magic dmg that they can benefit from wits end enough. Why not just remove the item from the game?]
All these does not make warwick op. There is a reason why he was never played/ banned. It's all about finding strength of your champion, building a strategy around it and getting the best out of it. If you do it so well, people will confuse it being op and demand to nerf the shit out of that champ.
That was through pure hard work of developing a unique strategy. In another season, I played xin jungle, with that broken guinsoo meta. I think when it was when it just came out. It was just so broken. Xin wasn't perma banned, but was decently banned. I abused the shit out of that xin+ guinsoo, and carried me right back to plat before the patch came in. It was so easy. It didn't even take that many games. Moral of the story: figure out what's op.
It needs to be a champ with a high skill cap —where you’re constantly learning —or you will probably get bored. Some options:

Honestly it doesnt even need to be someone like that. It just needs to be someone you personally love playing.

I keep getting bored and hopping around. I get champions to mastery 7 and then switch. I'd like to find just one champion to love but I love so many!
Kind of odd that you say you get bored and hop around, then say you love many of the champs.
There's nothing wrong with hopping around champs imo, but if you really want to find one to keep using, finding one you like thematically, visually, and in-game (liking the way their kit works) might help?
My first main champ was Rumble. I liked that he was a scrappy no-backing-down fella that built himself a mech from garbage.
More recently, Jhin has been my favorite. The way his lore, kit, and gameplay tie together makes him my go-to champ.
I'm sure you'll find something sooner or later.
You won't find the champion the champion will find you it will speak to you unlike any other.
you find the champion that makes you want to keep playing the game
And then watch Riot change their entire identity from an AP bruiser to a cc support who jungles.
Yeah, I'm still fucking pissed, so what?
Or from a mid laner into a jungler
Limit yourself to about 6. You don't have to 1 trick. You just have to be adaptable to all teams, and be proficient in the champs you play, and not have one's play style affect the next time you play one of your other champs.
Atm, I'm
Jungle,
Mid,
Support, and
Top mostly.
I did this too for a good 6 months tbh ( 5.5 in s7 and .5 in s8..), and then i found yasuo, personally his ability to outplay any situation is so attracting to me, you will find yours eventually! trust!
You find the champ you have most fun with, then you force yourself to keep playing them. The first time i was one tricking Jayce, I played about 100 games nonstop of him then got bored and quit for a week. Came back and only wanted to play Jayce. Its just sticking to that champ is when you make a bond with them
As Phearbunny said You need to find a champ that resonates with you as a player.
For me, That's
I mean, we're all different people.
Noxus to me represents a fairly libertarian place where merit determines standing so I knew I'd be maining a champ from noxus (that appeals to me), and darius is a great story of from rags to greatness, plus I like the raw strength and feel of playing him. New urgot is kinda the same way for me too. Therefore I just paly them over and over (darius 100000x more than urgot historically).
The only non-noxus champ I like is veigar because he's silly and I like his kit.
