On favor of Akali's Shrowd
With all the uproar caused by new Akali's invisibility and people calling it broken, i wanted to actually break a spear in her favor.
Mind me, i am not a tester and i am a person that based his observation on the videos shared by Riot, as much as many of the people here, and i want to share a different way to see at things.
An assassin usually deals a lot of damage in short time frames, but Akali apparently needs to engage and disengage a lot during that phase. Given that many assassins use their burst damage to take as less turret hits as possible, makes sense she has a skill that allowed her to avoid some hits fromt he turret when possible.
Remember, her losing turret aggro works exactly like any other skills that makes her lose turret aggro. Elise's Rappe, Fizz's Trollpole and Vladimir's Pool are all examples of this, where the champion is no more targeted by the turret but is kept on focus by the tower, meaning that once Akali is visible again ( which is, when she attacks ) she is avaiable as a target from the turret.
It can also be seen on the Trailer, when she dives a Leblanc, that the turret aggro is again at her when she pops out. She even took quite several hits form the turret herself. The shrowd does not make her immune to towers, it just delays some shots!
If you take for example Fizz, which is the true abuser here of turret aggro, he can just dash at you, use the enhanced AA, then hop on the pole and get away with it. Akali, for example, need to get there in some way first: let's say she uses her skills ( let's say her E, hitting the enemy champion, dashing away, proccing passive and dashing again at the enemy) and then she uses the shrowd, waits a bit then uses her Q ( maybe with her passive too ) to deal the finishing blow. Remember, her E is also the way out and in order to use it she has to leave the shrowd behind, in that case she does not use it while towerdiving which makes the whole argument "her shrowd not being revealed by towers" pointless. Now, i don't play her for obvious reasons, but you can see that leaves a lot to counterplay. She also needs a way to get out of the field if she overstays sionce the cloud does not last forever and has to move because the cloud changes shape!
It is a strong skill, of course, but is contextualized on a character that needs it. Remember that trailers overhype the character skills, but the Leblanc on the trailer that was a sitting duck could have done much more to avoid that situation first.
EDIT: another way she can "towerdive" is leaving a shrowd behind, using he to get close to the enemy, hit with Q then dash back to the shrowd ( i guess using the E to hit the shrowd does not proc passive, but in the case it does add that up too). In this case the argument where the shrowd is OP because of the turret doe snot see her is void again.
