If I'm Silver 2, why am I playing against Gold 3+?

I honestly do not understand this matchmaking system. I'm Silver 2 and I consistently lose in Silver 2. Why am I always paired against Golds? Why am I never paired up against Silvers? League of Legends is the ONLY game I have played where this happens. In every other game I have played ranked-wise, Guild Wars 2, Smite, World of Warcraft, you are paired against similar skill levels. I have never been Gold, but I'd rather find out I don't have what it takes to be Gold+ by beating other Silvers who are also trying to get to gold rather than getting stomped by Golds game after game after game.

I don't understand why it's Gold 5. My match history has significantly more losses than wins in Ranked. I'm floating at about 49% win rate, but it's dropping rapidly, and most of the wins are from last season.

That site seems to be pretty inaccurate in my experience. There no way someone with a negative W-L ratio is going to have a MMR 4 divisions higher than where they're at

Recent games have much more weight on your MMR than past games.

because of people duo queuing

I cosistently get mid gold players that queue up with plat 2/3s in my plat 4 game

if i face them, yes, most of the time But they are also on my team sometimes

unless they are a top/jungle premade then i might get fked all game long

Hey Schnazzy, its quite simple actually, I just checked your OP.gg and you indeed play alot of your games with low to mid gold, and occasionally with Plat!

If you look at your MMR you will see that it is a bit higher than the average of your elo, meaning you are better than people in Silver 2. If you keep your level of play at this point, you will eventually climb faster and reach Gold soon enough.

Its not always a bad sign!

EDIT: And don't be intimidated by Gold players, the difference between high Silver and low Gold is not a noticable one.
