Nerf or Remove Rabadon's Deathcap!

Just by reading the title, you might be thinking "This kid's retarded, move on!" Well, kinda true, I've recently been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, but hear me out.

The problem I have with Rabadon's Deathcap is that it removes variability within the mages. If you're a game developer, removing variability should be like a death flag. Riot even encourages variability, at least within the meta. But Rabadon's gives extra ability power based on your ability power. As a result, AP items are either weak without Raba's, or it's stupidly strong with it. In fact, the higher Raba scales, the contrast becomes even more evident.

Ever since Rabadon's buff to giving 35% bonus AP, AP items have been hit in their raw stats. There are no more 120 AP tier items with the exception of Rabadon's itself, and AP items in general just doesn't give as much AP anymore unless you buy Rabadon's. Even Mejai's had to be nerfed to losing 10 stacks per death instead of half of current stacks because of how strongly Rabadon's scales.

As a result, playing a mage feels very frustrating because you have to choose between having utility, kit synergy, and item actives or Rabadon's. Rabadon's is like another pair of boots to mages because it's mandatory. If you don't get it, you might be able to pull off some cool looking plays that deal no damage. But when you do get it, it doesn't matter who you are, if you can be classified as a secondary mage, you deal a fuck ton of damgae.

I feel like removing Rabadon's Deathcap would introduce much more variability and fun overall within the mage class. It would allow Riot to buff AP items to give more AP so that they aren't weak without Raba's nor strong with it, simply balanced. Y'all with me on this? Or not, I could simply be ignored ;-; Although I did suggest to give Guinsoo's some flat AS like the patch before Riot did that ^ o ^

Saying remove rabadon would be like saying remove trinity force from the game . Similar concept aren't they. They are balanced because they require a lot of gold to be spent and are very expensive items to build in the game. It comes with the cost of buying other items like Rylae, Lich bane, luden or abysal septor zhoyna because morello or rod of ages has been basic item for most mid laners either/or. THat Rylee slow is equally effective for AOE mages, or that luden echo to engage and disengage with that lethal strike., or that zhoyna to engage or disengage then freeze for that additional cooldown you get after zhoyna, or complete tear of the goddess with archangel staff which gives a shield when your mana is full Or buy GP ability power items which has a balance of health, mana and ability power which gives you fair stats in all areas while sacrificing others. With that logic they should remove infinity edge from the game or trinity force from the game or runan hurricane from the game or all the items from the game lol. No items is OP or too much. There is always a counter to everything in league. Whether it be champions or items. It is all mathematics. remaining is champion mechanics. I do not know which tier you are but you should be fairly avoid whatever rabadon problem you have only by staying with your team , playing objectives and fight when you really have to and always be with your team and prioritize or objectives rather than killing the other mage for ur 1v1 satisfaction so that you can get a few kills ahead then roam around the map looking for kills.

Rabadon or not if you do not know how to build against a scaling mage , you should google more and play less or play blind more and google more. I have won games even though the enemy mage could one shot me just by being patient, even though i was 100 cs behind and letting your jgler and other team do their thing ,Once your top or jgler is able to kill her even though she is a bit fed , if you eliminate her from the teamfight as a mid laner you can pretty much kill ad carry till mid game and target squishies first. Even if you lost 2 and get an ace and get a turret or dragon of that . it is worth it. I think you should google how to play against ap heavy mage, or mage who is ahead of you, or mage who kills you even when you are aheadand go to probuilds.net and see what is popular and try to analyze why pros are buildin Plus you always stick with your team if your enemy mage is stronger than u 1v1 after a certain point. If you are one of those kids who is complaining because you cannot 1v1 another mage with rabadon , then we do have a problem with the entire thread because we cannot explain something that comes with practice and experience. Since you are a mage , you are to be behind your team after laning phase ends and strike enemy from back line while the game transitions towards ad carry to scale late game.

IE does the same thing with critical strike. And rabadon isn't bought so often bythe way (ok it's a lategame item but still not a must have).

For me it's pretty mandatory to keep it as it's a key item to ensure lategame ap to have an healthy scaling.
