If players are getting Lethality more as ADCs than crit, then crit is flawed by this point

I still keep seeing people rush Ghostblades as ADCs because of the Lethality and AD being stronger on them in early-game snowballing than crit builds, and this annoys me to no end. Also, no one has ever really liked how crit is based on RNG (and no, the way your crit chance "increases" with each crit you miss doesn't completely eliminate RNG).

Doesn't this feel like even more of an indication that crit chance is flawed? I know reworking it isn't possible in a mid-season update, but are ideas still being looked at? Or is crit too ingrained into the game to be altered?

Crit = bad early and mid, good late.

Lethality = good early and mid, bad late.

Meta = Early rules.

This is why marksmen are going lethality.

But at least from my experience, it feels like you lose VERY little damage lategame. It doesn't really seem to fall off enough to even make it worth saying it's "bad late".

Lethality coming back, at least in my opinion, is a bad thing. And I hope tanks in the next update have some sort of way to fight it. I'd like to see tank supports viable again and it seems like lethality is making them EVEN MORE USELESS than they already are. :/

The no. 1 reason Lethality falls off late game is becuase atk speed isn't bought, making their dps lower.

The number 2 reason is becuase lethality will still deal lowered damage to tanks once they get their items. Add this to their inevitable low attack speed means they can't duel tanks as well late game, so they better close out the game before they get overrun.

I never gave the AS much thought, actually. Thanks for the explaination! MF still feels like she'll be a problem, though. AS steroid and that ult.

Then you have the ones that don't build lethality that were still popping off like Vayne. I'm not sure how well Twitch builds lethality.. but these guys already hurt tanks, it feels.

No prob, I feel you on Lethality hurting.

I have a feeling once tanks get reworked, their presence would stall out games enough for Lethality to fall off.

It would naturally lessen depending on the number of tanks on the enemy team.

right... because it doesn't mean lethality is the issue at all...

they get ghost blade more honestly for the mobility. Yes leathality plays a huge role in the gear choices, but ADCs use it for kiting purposes because of the super low CD on the active. plus its an all around better item to rush than lets say an IE which requires more gold and has a relatively low crit % for what it costs making it a better choice to get later on in the game as opposed to earlier like in more recent seasons

Maybe they need to change Ghostblade so it gives its bonus movement speed only when you're moving toward enemy Champions. This would prevent it from being used as a kiting tool.

but in doing so it would also highly cripple its function. They nerfed that item last season to be only a move speed item, because it use to give AS as well and was extremely powerful. 20% move speed on a 45 second CD is just enough to be able to kite, but it also allows for hard CC to shut its use and abuse down.

Champs need it for facing off against adcs like vayne who get MS just by facing you, removing the ghostblades ability to increase MS while running away would make it so powerful on champs like vayne, rengar, lucian, etc.

Okay, maybe it could give LESS when you're using it to run away, rather than NONE. Something like Volibear's Q.

It's meant to be an assassin item, no? I'd say using it only moving toward champs is a pretty solid idea for assassins, who already have a great amount of mobility.

If you can't use the mobility in your assassin kit effectively, that's your own problem.

Crit chance wouldn't be crit chance without RNG. It'd just be a % damage increase.
