What is the purpose of stinger?

It literally builds into one item now. Has no place in the game. Just make build out of . It even fits because it deals additional damage on hit.

so just because it builds into one item it needs to go? Stinger gives more AS than a Recurve Bow and it gives CDR. The item would be great for an AS item that has no crit but offer some AD in return for those who don't care about crit but would like some AS in their builds

I fear that Riot might be trying to avoid that. arguably, Runan's was the go to AS item. But then it got changed to support more ADC's instead of filling the AS niche.

stinger is a very cool item and it should build into other stuff too. its literally the only cost-efficient attackspeed item in the game.

Well I think either it needs to build into something else or it needs to go because it has no place right now.

ofcourse it has its place. its the only cost efficient attackspeed item so if you want raw attackspeed, you can get stinger and thats why it should build into other items that give you very nice attackspeed and maybe cooldown reduction too and maybe have a cool unique passive or active but no other useless stats.
