If Zed is Freelo then go play him?

So to all these people complaining about him being faceroll and easy ELO then go play him?

It's always the same response.

"Hurr durr, I play real skill champ like Ziggs and Lux and won't touch cancer noob champ."

or

"Yeah I hopped on my Lv 15 smurf and went 21/4/9, even a noob like me can use this stupid OP champ"

What they don't want to say is they tried to play it at their normal ELO and fed but when a competent fed Zed comes along they don't know how to deal with it and wanted it nerfed.

Have you ever actually tried laning against Zed as Lux?

You can land every E and dodge every shuriken. The result is that you will run out of mana looooong before he runs out of hp. Then you're stuck panhandling for creeps while he just continues shoving in the lane. Let's assume Zed is a complete moron who doesn't know to roam. That just means he's shoving in your lane the whole game and you're at turret. You can leave, teleport back with a mana item (because you need a mana item, if not two, oh but you also need an armguard) and he comes back with a vamp scepter. Now he's shoving even better and you get to cast spells a few more times until whoops he hit six and you're dead. Because outplayed. Snare him under tower? Good job! He gets away. You have to back even if your self-stunning delayed shield activated in time. Zed can back or he can just farm up with all the ad+sustain he's getting while your spells get progressively weaker because you need mana and armor just to MAYBE survive the lane.

The "correct" "strategy" is to not bother trying to kill him at all, because he needs to be at the same skill level as your jungler in the above scenario before you stand a chance of killing him. No, your job is to scrape the minions off the turret and ping twentyseven times every time he leaves lane and hope your imbecile bot lane listens, and then try not to ragequit when they bitch about no mias. You cannot kill Zed. You cannot stop Zed from farming. You cannot stop Zed from roaming (lol Lux waveclear). Every decision is Zed's to make, and your success or failure hinges on him, not you.

Zed vs Lux is your one stop shop for how fucked up Riot's mana regen nerfs have been. Take the class that is suffering, and stomp on them some more. BALANCE. ~Uiru

Ah how I can't wait for Grail buffs. (seriously the mana regen nerfs had to happen at some point; because old grail was just stupid, but they should've waited until AFTER they got the resourceless champions in line)

Malzahar Thankfully I haven't had too many problems even without grail, glad to see it getting the buffs though to help the mana starved mids who truly need it.

He's very strong but not "too" OP. I do think he's an issue in that he can safely farm and push and poke w/o much worry about resources. He's also heavily counterable, so he's not too OP. The issue is there's no in-between. Either he will win hard or lose hard. Either you counter him or he counters you. As such, he limits the selection of viable champs to lane against him. That's the real problem...not that he's too strong.
