How come Zed animation cancelling is a bug but Riven's is #skillcap?

Zed stats - League of Legends

Doesn't seem fair.

44% winrate.

Along with Botrk nerfs, LW nerfs, Hydra nerfs and now even his strong laning phase is average since W+Q is unreliable.

Counterplay? KindredBardFiora TahmKench item 3157 item 3139 item 3046 summoner 3

Why should I pick him when Azir Ahri Diana Kassadin Leblanc Orianna Lux Lulu Yasuo TwistedFate Viktor Veigar are leagues and leagues better and don't get become useless after the enemy gets items?

cause zed wasn't canceling animations, which every single champ, inclouding zed, still can do. Animation canceling means you override the backswing part of a given animation with a new order, which means the part AFTER the damage/spell/heal whatever resolved.

Zeds bugfix adressed an issue in which he cancled the** ENTIRE** animation, thus effctivly removeing the casttime! For comparison with riven, that would mean her 3ed Q knocks you up befor she performs any kind of animation!

animation canceling does not influence how fast a attack/abillity is performed, but only how fast you can perform another move afterwards. now imagin veigars W had no casttime if cast right after Q, that would be an close example to the fixed Zed W+Q combo.

Plus, the yasuo video that Riot featured on their client mentioned canceling yasuo's q animation with wind wall. No consistency here at all.

You're right that's not fair....

Let's remove riven's cancelling too!

Zed's not a good champion this patch. What world have we come to

I'm gonna explain this again like the other thread

There is a difference between canceling parts of an animation that occur after the spell effect

and

causing a spell to occur without having an animation in the first place

There is no animation cancel that lets Riven knock you up before the flip animation of her 3rd Q completes.

You forgot that they nerfed Infinity Edge and Ghostblade too.

Before the update you got 115 AD and 35% crit chance for 6600 gold.

Now you get 130 AD and 20% crit chance for 6800 gold.

It's pretty obvious which option is more useful (hint: it's the first).

They decided to leave it in. Like Ward jumping. Also Zed didn't cancel animations. he removed cast time for instant spells. Riven cancelled her animation when its almost completed. Basically its a 0.4 second difference from the usual compared to Zed's instant spells.

If you watch Redmercy's video on the trick before it was patched you see how much instant damage was being done, on what would normally be a hit-confirm q. The way the shadow can trail the q so perfectly is what makes it a problem as its difficult to read as well as being instantaneous. Combining all 3 of zeds basic spells makes for really heavy harass with less counterplay than what he would normally have.

The difference between him and yas is that yasuo's animation cancel doesn't affect the abilities cast times. Yas can't wall while dashing to disguise his e+q animation meaning it only works with the two spells and the damage isn't instantaneous.

Imagine it like this; Zed is old rengar where you had to triple q to burst someone down, but this animation negation turns him into post-rework rengar where you can burst someone with the q+hyrda e combo instantly
