Or atleast use it as some type of inspiration for a new system

The current system is full of flaws

(Ex. Bronze vs Silver, Silvers vs Golds, Silvers vs Plats, Plats vs Masters, etc.) its fucked

I've seen people suggest we just matchmake based off of MMR and solely MMR, like how Overwatch is. I completely agree with this idea of matching using MMR rather than a tier system like we're currently on. It'll help players be up against who they really should be against. It'll make the matchmaking healthier imo.

Another idea is to only match people with people in their tier (not as healthy as the MMR matchmaking imo) Just like this; Bronze vs Bronze Silver vs Silver Gold vs Gold Diamond/Master vs Diamond/Master Master/Chall vs Master/Chall

Not some fucked game with Silvers and Plats in the same match

This game DOES match based on MMR, leagues and divisions are a separate system that follows your MMR but doesn't exactly reflect it.

I understand that, but I feel like your MMR should reflect your rank, not your tier.

You of course have the more LP per win less per loss if your MMR is higher than your division

I just feel your rank should be represented by your MMR, not by the current tier system in place.

So your title should have actually been "Why don't we just use Overwatch's RANKING system" ?

As to why Riot uses the league system: they thought it would be more fun than the elo system from previous seasons.

It's an interesting system, but all I see on the boards is complaints on the matchmaking and ranking system.

Literally nothing can stop that. You tend to get complaints either about losing due to a dc or a match being completely uneven. You can't do anything about dcs and player standards for an 'even' match are completely unrealistic and even contradictory within the same post. Even in pro games where every player is from the top fraction of a percent within their region, games swing wildly one way or the other based on a few small calculations that practically come down to chance in the early game.

Matchmaking uses MMR, not division. If you are a plat V playing with gold IVs, your MMR is garbage, or you are duo queued.

We used to. Playerbase whined that it was too hard to climb so Rito reduced LP clamping and introduced promo helper. What we have now is that rank doesn't represent mmr because they unchained it. System still uses mmr to make matches though.
