Just to give you a little bit more versatility (and earlygame spikes), here's two major gamechangers I found made the game much more bearable for me.

To get ahead, especially if already behind or in midlane and if you're AD, buy Poacher's- . If you can't farm, just go farm their jungle. You might lose a tower but you can hopefully constantly gank the other lanes. Plus, it's super cheap Serrated Dirks. It lowers the cost of Duskblade and Youmuu's to a pitiful 2300. Nobody should be getting anything except for maybe their red, so it's super easy to spam.

And a tip for any damage dealer- Go Transcendence. It won't give you the extra 10%, but CDR on every item is gonna turn into straight-out more damage immediately. Duskblade and Youmuu's, with these two strats, now give 67 instead of 55 AD and cost 600 less. Positively broken mates. Same goes for any mixed damage or AP carries, Luden's Echo now gives you 130 AP instead of 90, etc.
